My definition of a character is any keys or combinations of keys on a keypad. This can be letters, numbers, and any symbols. Character codes is what the computer uses to identify what key that has been pressed. For example, 97 is the code for the lower case “a” and 65 is the code for the upper-case “A”.
The codes are in range of zeros and ones.
