Escape...

Sitting among the shadows in a darkened corner he thinks to himself, 'how long will it be before time slows down? How long will it be before we can stop and sit in awe of the time that slowly creeps before us, giving us eternities to live, and making only the moment at the present matter? Sometimes we should slip into oblivion, and not worry about living, but actually live, actually feel the energy of things around us.'

It isn't the first time he has felt like this. He has thought this for the as long as he cares to remember. Thoughts and hopes of change persisted still, hope is always there. This hope would never take effect. Real change faded out with the light that had left so long ago, leaving this room dark and cold.

He stands now with his head pressed against the cool glass of the window, “nothing is reliable” he sighs as he runs his hands down the glass taking in the feel of it for all that it is worth. Checking behind his back he sees the walls of entrapment sit loyally. "It is all the same." He turns slowly and stares out across the grey and dismal city through a window that is almost as cold and lonely while the rain traces small paths down the panes, each taking their own way. “This world has failed me.” He realizes that here is where he will remain amid feelings of entrapment and nothingness.

At once the sterile confining walls take a step back and stare with their placid gazes, as if looking off into the distant galaxies, with no more than disgusted looks on their faces, looks of defeat. The added space seems to call to him you are free.

His eyes now catch a glinting ray of sun changing them to fire. His heart overflows with hope and he races for the door...locked. But the room is brighter.
