Q.) Where and when did you guys start?

A.) We got our start in the Summer of 2000 in Erie, Pa. We actually
were
in the process of moving to Pittsburgh to go to school.

Q.) Whats your favorite non punk band?

A.) My favorite Non-Punk band would have to be (at this time) Dead
Prez.
Im not a big fan of some of the stuff they spit but as far as
Political
Rap artists go dead Prez are the fucking shit!

Q.) Whats Your favorite punk band?

A.) My Favorite Punk band of all time is Operation Ivy. However my
favorite punk group right now would have to be Against Me!

Q.) Do you like to do anything besides play music?

A.) I like to make/design my own shirts and build bikes. I also love to
go
to shows all the time.

Q.) Do you have a job, besides being in a band?

A.) I do have a job outside of the band. When Im not on tour with The
Code I work at A-F Records. I have the best job in the fucking world it
keeps me involved with music 24/7 and I wouldnt have it any other way!

Q.) Whats your favorite CD?

A.) My favorite CD right now is Against Me S/T on sabot records. I also
really like the new Rise Against record a lot. Theres also an new band
on
Eyeball Records called Voice In The Wire whos debut record is fucking
phenomenal. Do yourself a favor and make sure you check them out!!!
www.voiceinthewire.com or www.eyeballrecords.com

Q.) Would you ever have one of your songs play in a commercial?

A.) This is a hard question to answer. I guess I would have to say that
it
would really depend on the product and the company that it was
representing. I would never fucking want to hear a CODE song selling
Nike
shoes or passing as a Wal-Mart jingle. I would really want to do some
research if it ever came to this.

Q.) Why did u start a band?

A.) We started The Code because we loved playing punk rock. We didnt
set
out to get huge or anything. When your young you want to have as much
fun
as possible and rocking out was our idea of fun.

The Code was also a way to put out some of our ideas and hopefully
create
a dialogue between us and the rest of the world. I believe that if you
have something to say than stand up and speak your mind Dont keep
that
shit to yourself. The best part of the underground punk scene is that
ideas, no matter what they are, can be represented. This is a very
important thing that we must never let die.

Q.) What was your favorite show u played? where was it?

A.) We played a show in Ithica, New York in an old abandoned trailer.
It
was one of the first shows we played so we were just getting started.
We
showed up to the address that the kid gave us and were like wheres
the
show? There was nothing and no one around but a few houses and an old
ratty mobile home. We must of drove up and down the road a hand full of
times looking for a building where a show could be held at. Finally we
seen a few punk kids and stopped to ask them if they knew where the
show
was. They were like right here and they pointed at that old ass ratty
Mobile home. We were like Thanks and then we rolled up the van
window
and just sat there. It was very quiet in the van for a few moments.
Then I
spoke up and said Well Shit happens! and everyone agreed. We had made
a
plan that if there wasnt 30 kids at the show we were gonna just
fucking
leave. Anywhoo to make a long, very interesting, story short by the
time
we played the fucking trailer was packed and the show went off. It
wasnt
the greatest show weve ever played by far but the experience was more
than worth it!

Q.) What was the last show u saw, was it good?

A.) We just got done with a handful of days on the warped tour. I
watched
The River City Rebels every day almost. Those guys are fucking sweet. I
love watching them rock out. They made my day everyday and if you
havent
seen them yet make sure you do. You wont regret it!!!

Q.) Why did u name your band the code?

A.) The name The Code comes from the reaction I had to watching my
peers
grow up, constantly being told that they had to do this and do that or
they would never do anything good in this life. I like to refer to
those
people who do everything by the book as living by the code. I actually
use
that line in one of our songs 40 Hour Week

Do you ever wonder why, why your life has passed you by
You're a slave to the code, working 9 to 5
The 40-hour fight for freedom has put you one foot in the grave
You're no American dream, you're the American slave

Q.) Any last comments?

A.) Yeah, I think that its important that we remember to keep an open
mind and question everything we hear see and read. No matter if its on
the news or in the lyric sheet of your favorite bands new album. If you
truly believe in something you owe it to yourself and to the rest of
the
world to really know where you stand. Just because someone says
something
doesnt make it a fact. Just because something is popular right now
doesnt make it the truth. We are more than a demographic target
market
we are real people with real ideas and concerns and dont you forget
it!
