Billie Joe describes himself as a rhythm player and it's true. Green Day are
obviously influenced by the Ramones and are probably more famous than them.
Along with The Offspring, Green Day are one the biggest and most hated punk
bands around. Punks just seem to have a hard time dealing with bands having
success. Anyway, whatever you're point of view on the "sellout"
argument, you can't deny that Green Day write strong catchy songs. They are
currently working on their new album which should be out on Reprise Records
in 2004, although it is rumoured that they already have a new album out under
the guise of The Network and their album Money Money 2020.
Billie Joe plays and old Fernandes Strat called Blue as well as a couple of Fender custom shop Strats made up to look similar to Blue. He plays Marshall amps, the most famous of which is Pete who can be seen on the Woodstock '94 video footage.
There are no Green Day tabs at the minute but we are working on an absolute shitload.
