December 2002 News Archives
Decemeber 15, 2002
IT'S ALL FINALLY COMPLETE!!! That's right. This is the last big change I planned on making before the band actually forms into a band and picks a name. I'm here at home so there's some minor changes left to make. Well, I guess I should just get right down to business then.
NEW MP3'S!!!!! Unlike that crap of 15 other songs I put up here before, I think the 4 new songs I put up in the music section are made up better. The 4 new songs are "Bye Bye Heather," "Catch Her in the Rye," "Mindy Likes Elephants," and "One Art." They all have their flaws still, but they're better than the old mp3's I think. It's still just me, but I went crazy with backing vocals recorded and second guitars and whatnot. "Catch Her in the Rye" kicks major ass!!! Do me the favor of at least downloading that and giving it a listen. So, CHECK IT OUT IN THE MUSIC SECTION!!!!
Also, I've added the lyrics to those in the lyrics section. The problem with that is I was at home when I did it. And the computer here sucks, so there are repeated background sounds on those pages. When I get back to college, I'll make some new ones for them. I'll give you an update when I do that.
The same goes for the new News section stuff. There are NO background sounds on there, so I'll make new ones for them maybe when I get back. I don't know if it's worth it to put stuff on there, though. What I did with the new News archives was I put a new link at the bottom of this news, and I made archives for each month. You'll see if you check it out.
Also, on December 7, I played at another Open Mic Night at my college. I played three Christmas songs, a new one I wrote called "Ho, Ho, Ho," "Merry Christmas" by Face to Face, and "I Won't Be Home for Christmas" by Blink 182. The first one, I wrote in the same day, and I messed up. And it sounded like total crap. But the other two went pretty well. I recorded it and was going to put those two with a "room recording" of "Ho, Ho, Ho" up on the site for a special Christmas download. But with finals and all, I didn't get a chance to get those up here before I came home to this crappy computer that I wouldn't be able to do that on. So instead, I put the lyrics to "Ho, Ho, Ho" up in the Lyrics section. Check them out! If I'm lucky and you're unlucky, you'll get to hear me play them sometime around this Christmas time maybe.
I think that covers it for this time. I might put some more news or something up here as more stuff unravels with us while I'm home. For example, I'm not sure that Dwayne's going to be our drummer. I was never that sure, but it's more likely now that I've talked to him recently. So don't be afraid to let me know if any drummers out there would be interested in playing for us. Anyways, just check back with us now and then to see what's new. And I might actually use our messageboard for once here in the future. Ha! That's it. Enjoy.
P.S.
Hey, I almost forgot to mention that our buddy Al Gore hosted Saturday Night Live last night. He said that it was Punkley Dunkley, Neighbor! So if you missed it, I guess you're just "Umpa Lumpa Doopidy Screwed."
