August 2003 News Archives

August 31, 2003
Greetings. It's me again. I figured I needed something for August 'cause I didn't do anything for a month. And I'm back at college now so I might update more frequently. But then again, I might not. It's the Freeburg luck again. My computer's not really working so I'm working on this from the computer labs at school. I think I either got a virus (which I don't want 'cause then I think I'll lose everything 'cause I haven't saved anything yet on my computer although I have the Zip Disks to do it but never got around to it - more Freeburg luck) or this program from my Creative mixer (that I used right before it wouldn't start up again to make a background sound for this site) went sort of haywire. I don't know yet. If I ever get it fixed, I should have more for you on this site more often. But don't count on it. Anyways, I have a few updates to mention. So let's get to it.
Well, first of all, nothing's going on with the band since last time because we're all back in school and I'm far far away. But one thing worth mentioning is that I'm taking Electronic Music and Audio Production this year, and in both those classes, I heard mention of recording songs as a sort of required project for each class. So perhaps before the semester's over, I might have REALLY high quality recordings of a couple songs up on the site. I don't know yet. I'll let you know when it happens. Other than that, the only real thing to update you on is a few updates I made to the site. I updated a whole lot of bios so check them out first. And I'm wondering if I shouldn't add more bios for the members of the DS Staff. ??? What do you think? Leave me a message or something on the messageboard. And I'll probably just add at few at a time whenever I have time for it. So if you want me to add more, give me the names of the DS members you would like me to start with. Thanks! Anyways, I updated the picture for the Running Scared link, updated the opening to the pictures page, and updated the history. So check all that out when you have time. And I hope to get more pictures up in the future. We'll see. I was thinking about putting pictures of me with my two nieces up on the site, but that's using the band site for more of a personal use, don't you think? I didn't do, but just wondered what you thought.
Anyways, now to the poll. The last poll was by far our most responded to yet. We had a total of 66 votes!!! That's amazing! It's so amazing that I really think that one person voted a WHOLE LOT for one or a bunch of the options because Father Dameon told me that Running Scared doesn't even get that many people to come to their site. So yeah, but the number of votes was probably definitely increased by our semi-debut at Ted-Fest. So rock on! Here was the results. The poll asked "What do you think of Different Situations?" and the majority said "Sucks ass!" with 41 (62% of the) votes. Thanks! (sarcasm) The next best was "I love N'SYNC." with 15 (22% of the) votes. Nokay... Anyways, then it was "Who?" with 7 (10%of the) votes. Hey, that's us! Then, "Running Scared is better." received 2 (3%) of the votes. Hey! You're right. And finally, "They're totally awesome!" received 1 (1%) of the votes. And whoever that one person was, I love you, man! Thanks!!! So what didn't get any votes were "They're okay.," "I like them.," "I don't know.," "Punk sucks.," and "Zero Point One is better." So thanks to everyone for a great poll!!! Keep voting 'cause I put up a new one. This one's not humorous at all 'cause I wanted to try something different (situations). So go vote for which band you like the best. That might give me an idea of what the majority of the people that come here like, style wise. Thanks!
Well, I think that's it for this time. Leave me something on the messageboard. Keep voting! And you know the drill. Until next time...

P.S.
Punkley Dunkley, Neighbor! It's your pal Al here. Well, I've been working out a little lately, practicing my moves and going over a montra I learned. Well, I took a break from it Thursday night when Jason told me that the VMAs were on and that AFI was up for an award. I thought that was strange because I didn't think one award committee could be up for another award. So I watched all night to see if the American Film Institute ever won, but I didn't see them. Jason said they did and that he was all excited, but I must have missed it. It was probably because I had to take a trip to the restroom after I saw Britney Spears and Christina Aguleira kissing Madonna. And then I missed the rest 'cause I told Tipper it was go time, and we were off. It's not every day that little Al gets so tall. But that's about all I've been doing lately. I'm working hard not to be so disappointing for the next show so that's why I don't have anything interesting to say here other than Punkley Dunkley, Neighbor!
