Erik, Mathias, and Nikola started the band Millencolin in 1992 in Orebro, Sweden. Erik played guitar in a band called "Charles Harfager". Nikola and Mathias had a band called Seigmenn. They all met and started Millencolin. The name millencolin came from the skateboard trick called Melancholy (aka sad air). They changed the name a bit to make it sound more like a band name. In early 1993 they recorded a 10 song demotape called "Goofy". After they played 1 show, Larzon joined the band. Larzon originally played in a band called "Kung Pung". They needed 2 guitarists live and Mathias, who played drums then, was more of a guitar player. In August of 1994 they recorded their 1st full length CD called "Tiny Tunes." They played over 100 shows in Sweden that year. In 1995 Burning Heart records and Unisound Studios moved to Orebro and their 2nd album ,"Life On A Plate," was recorded. It was released in October of 1995. Epitaph records (the famous US punk rock record company) expressed some interest in Millencolin. They wanted to release "Life On A Plate" in the U.S. and then they wanted to sign the boys to Epitaph records. They reached a deal and released Life On A Plate in March of 1996. Burning Heart records got sued by Warner Bros. because they thought "Tiny Tunes" sounded to much like a copyright that they had. Millencolin then re-released the album as "Same Old Tunes" because it had the 'same old tunes' as the other album. In April of 1997 Millencolin released their 3rd full length album called,"For Monkeys." Dan Swano quit at Unisound Studios and sold most of the company to Mathias and a companion named Miezsko. They called the studio "The Punk Palace" but the later changed it to "Sound Lab Studios." The For Monkeys tour was from May of 1997 to August 1999 (whewww!!) The tour included 3 European tours, 1 Australian tour, 1 to Japan, 3 tours to the U.S./Canada, and even a small tour to South America! The whole tour had almost 200 shows! After the band settled a bit Erik put together "Millencolin and the Hi-8 Adventures." This video was 76 minutes long and had 23 songs. Next they put together their first two CD singles, the B-sides of other singles, and some other songs off of compilations. The 22 song albulm is called, "The Melancholy Collection." They just put out a new Album "Pennybridge Pioneers" for the year 2000.
