Elijah is one of the most talented actors in his age group in Hollywood history. He has appeared in over a dozen feature films and has co-starred with some of the biggest names in Hollywood. He was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Elijah began acting when he was in elementary school. In 1987, he was in the chorus for his school's production of 'The Sound of Music', and then he was in The Wizard of Oz for the festival 'Hooray for Hollywood.'
Since then, Elijah has appeared on many different movies and TV shows. In 1995, he was nominated for "Best Performance by an actor in a Dramatic Movie" at the first annual Young Stars award, for his performance in 'The War'. In this film, he co-starred with Kevin Costner and Lexi Randal. In 1994 at the 20th annual 'Saturn Awards', Elijah won an award for 'Best Performance by a Young Actor in a Thriller/Fantasy,' for his performance in the movie 'The Good Son', where he co-starred with Macauly Culkin. Also in 1994, Elijah was named the first ever 'Young Star of The Year' by N.A.T.O. (National Association of Theater Owners.)
The TV shows that Elijah has appeared on include 'Frasier', 'The Tonight Show With Jay Leno,' 'The Arsenio Hall Show,' and 'Homicide: Life on the Streets' where he played the part of a student who is suspected of murder. He played 'The Artful Dodger' on the TV movie 'Oliver Twist' has appeared on many award shows, including Nickolodeon 'Kid's Choice Awards' and 'The 60th Annual Academy Awards.'
Elijah most recently starred in 'Lord of The Rings: The Fellowship of The Ring' as Froddo. The film was directed by Peter Jackson and was shot in New Zealand. There are two more movies in this series.. ''The Two Towers' and 'Return of The King.' The three movies will be released as a Christmas event series, starting this year with the first movie.
