Noir

Blackbird fly away
Your frail body resets time
Remembrance of when there was something
Always uncommon to find
A brightened smile of old
Now haunts and shatters
A once glad grin remains morose and ill
chipper is replaced with failing posture
And beauty is misplaced by now poor skin
Noir feathered please make haste
for the pain surges upward once again
Emotions dull cold
Thine eyes deep set and rouge
Pity the skinned boned woman
Holding her knees, nose buried in dirt
listless but reaching out a lonely hand
for those only to shift, gaze and jest
Forgotten is the unnamed box
left in hiding unwillingly
Dust now covers chipped paint
Rejection now marking it's territory
For that ebony creature flies no more
Now caged and shackled
He resides crooning inside a chamber
Only waiting to fly once more
