To tell you the truth, I can't quite figure that out. I know that no matter how good it seems they have it, they have nothing without Christ, and yet how do you show them that? I think Jim Ryun, congressman for Kansas, would be a good person to ask. Jim Ryun was a big time track star back in his days of college. He broke his own world record at least once, and just kept trying to get better and better. But it seemed like the better he got, the worse he felt until one day somebody showed him what was missing in his life. What was missing? Jesus Christ of course.
Another fine example would be David Robinson of the San Antonio Spurs. It's the same kind of situation. He kept improving on his game, and was San Antonio's leading scorer for several years. But he just wasn't happy with his life. He was making millions of dollars a year, could have anything he wanted, but we know that money can't buy happiness. David found Christ, and now he gives so much back to the city of San Antonio. He's building a school in one of the worst parts of town so that the kids there can actually get a decent education. Whenever he gets a chance, he likes to go around to the playgrounds and talk with the kids about Christ. It's awesome the position God's put him in, and I think he's doing a wonderful job with his position.
Reggie White, at least when he played for the Philadelphia Eagles, did the same thing with the kids in Philadelphia. All of these men, to me, make for good role models for kids to follow.
I think what the "got it all going for them" person needs are role models of people who used to be like they are when they were growing up. I've included a link here that is Jim Ryun's personal testimony.
