Hi my name is Lupe and I reside in Chicago. I am e-mailing you because I have an idea to put together a huge show, The idea is this: As you all know the main objective of any revolutionary is to educate others about our libertarian ideals, and what better way than to have a concert like this one.

Here are the reasons why I'm having this festival-convention:
1) To awaken peoples' political consciousness, educate by having you, the band; talk about your goals, purpose, etc. as a revolutionary.

2) To form unity among us, because if you notice it's a global punk festival meaning, that people from different countries will attend the show making it inevitable for them not to have some sort of contact with each other.

3) To share ideas with each other; a band from Mexico share their experiences of living in Mexico with a band from The U.S. for example, this is a good way of knowing about life in other countries first hand instead of only reading about it in some sociology book.

How will this concert all work out? My grand scheme is to first rent a hall/large space able to fit 500 people or more, try to get about 30 bands or more from around the world depending on how many responses I get will determine how many bands I get from each country. For example if 20 bands from Spain get back to me, 5 from Germany, and 5 from France but no one else then I guess those will be the bands that will be playing (I hope I made that clear?!?!). The festival will last two days. Saturday and Sunday; on Saturday it will start at 12:00 p.m. and end at about 12:00 a.m. I was thinking about having the same schedule from Saturday but I think that would be too much so for Sunday it will start around 7:00 p.m. and end at 12:00 a.m.

What will be at this festival? Bands of course (ha,ha,ha) plenty of useful information; books, pamphlets, flyers, etc.. vegan/vegetarian food, (sorry meat eaters, but no meat, I promise the food will be good) all sorts of drinks, hopefully I could get recipes from you guys because I am Mexican and will cook only the food my mom taught me (only foods from Mexico) Where will the bands stay? There is plenty of room in my house, not for all the bands but for a couple and the rest will be staying the outside pavements (just a joke), the other bands will stay at some of my friend's homes. Let me just say that you will have somewhere to eat and sleep "I am a wonderful hostess"

What if I can not make it? I have receive a lot of responses since my last e-mail informing me that "unfortunately because of the distance they are unable to attend", that is completely understandable. If you are not able to attend but would still like to participate you can send me a note/letter something that you would like to be said, I will be more than happy to read it to everyone.

When is this going to happen? I do not know yet depending on how fast I get responses back from the bands. I want to have it happen before June of 2001 and if it can happen before then that will be even better.

Please if anyone is interested and willing to come to Chicago let me know as soon as you're able to. Also if you can help me in letting other bands that live in you country know about this event I will be extremely grateful.

One more thing, I would like to receive Fan-zines from all over the world, If it is possible for you to send them to me I will cover the shipping cost and everything else. I thank all of you for your undivided attention.
