Moving On.
By Jen*E

I heard tires screeching on the pavement but I didnt move, I didnt care, I just stayed curled in a little ball, crying.  Then I herd a voice; it was a strong yet gentle voice. Are you okay? Little girl can you here me? Are you okay?
That was about all I remembered until I woke in a hospital bed. I started looking around when the doctor came in, he started talking to me I dont really know what he said but it was something about me passing out and going through some kind of shock or something like that. However I would be just fine. But when I started to remember what had happened through out the night I knew that everything wouldnt be just fine.
I was lying there trying to figure out if this was some kind of nightmare or not, when the doctor reentered. This time a man and a woman police officer were following him. The doctor just stood in the corner while the man came close to the head of my bed, and the woman stayed near the end. She set of a warm feeling with her smile, but the man was older and a lot more stern looking, it was almost an angry look. My heart started beating faster and harder, why were the police here; had I done something wrong that I forgotten about?  Then the man spoke, My name is Officer Brad, we need to contact your parents, I need names, yours and theirs.
I dont have a father, I responded.
What about your mother? the lady officer asked.
My mother, I begun, Shes, shes dead!
Well then who do you live with! Officer Brad quickly barked out.
I began to cry, so the doctor started talking, Officer Brad, please stay calm. We do not need to upset her; she has gone through some major trauma. Why I am not sure, but she has. And it's not good for her to be excited.
Honey, the lady officer was speaking now, and she was much nicer than Officer Brad, what is your name?
My name is, I tried to speak but my eyes started to water up and I could hardly breath when I started sobbing. My name is, I started again, is Liz Truent. And I live with my mother.
Your mother! officer Brad snapped at me. I thought she was dead!
She d I couldnt breathe, I started to gasp for air when everything went black; I had passed out again.
By the time I had awakened again every one was gone, except for a nurse, who was tending the room over in the corner.  She finally realized I was awake after a few minutes. Good morning, she said, how are you feeling today?
Morning, is it already morning, it cant be.
Actually youre right it isnt morning, its about four o clock, so how are you feeling?
My mother were is she, I started freaking out. Why am I here? Then suddenly in a sudden rush my memory came back to me. I was in pretty deep thought, about everything when the nurse started to talk to me again.
The police are trying to contact your mother. But they are not having much luck. Actually I should probably go get them now that you are awake but first lets get you cleaned up.
I got a bath, and a clean hospital gown.  And as I was pulling my hair back, when the doctor came.
Liz, we can not find your mother, is there anyone else we can contact to take you home?
My aunt, will probably be home.
Whats your aunts name? We need to get you on home.
My Aunts name is Mary Anderson, she should be home, but, I have to tell you were my mother is.
You know where she is?  Why didnt you say anything? So where is she? asked the doctor.
Well you see its a long story I started to cry. Well my mother is at home.
Why wont she answer the phone then? interrupted Officer Brad as he came into the room.
Last night, I went on to tell my story of horror.  I went to bed around 11 o clock, mother was still working in her study.  I think she was typing something.
You think! The officer snapped again, I need the hard facts, was she or wasnt she typing something?
Excuse me but would you like to hear what I have to say?  Im sure you do so do me a favor and be quiet, and she was typing something!  Better? I asked.  Right then I could have killed that man, he made me so angry! But I went on.  When I said good night she just kind of ignored me, so I just went on to bed, I was having a weird dream
I saw a light that at first was so bright, but after awhile you got used to it. I walked through gates of pearls on roads of gold. It was so sweet there I could almost taste it!  But suddenly it was getting dark, and very hot.  I started to feel as if I was burning. I couldnt move I tried but it was if I was locked up. And when I screamed no one looked to see what was wrong, then I realized they were screaming to. And just as the pain started to get to me I heard a gun shot. Then I woke up and the pain was gone, after all it was just a dream.  But that gunshot it seemed so real as if it had happened in the house.  So I went to go check with Mother to see what in the world was going on. The light was on in her study so I had figured she had heard the gunshot herself.  Naturally I knocked, Mother found it very rude when I just waltzed right in. But there was no answer, so I knocked again and I even called for her. Yet there was silence. I stood out in the hall for about five minutes before I had decided that if anyone was being rude it was she. So I decide to just go in and that is what I did I began to sob excessively, I was so terrified by the thought intruding my mind that I began to shake and could not stop.
By this time the nurse was holding me in her lap trying to comfort me, as if I were her own daughter.  She started to silently cry along with me its okay sweetie, calm down everything will be fine...
What is all that bullshit have to do with anything. All I want to know is why your mother is not answering her phone!
By that remark I was pulled in to a fiery rage of anger. I started to ready myself to pounce onto Officer Brad.  But the woman officer realizing what I was about to do put her arm around me and told me to continue.  I took a deep breath and went on.  Okay I went on into my mothers study, and she was lying there on the floor by the window blood was splattered everywhere, it was so disgusting.  I cant even explain it and thats when I ran out of the house and ended up in the middle of the road.  And then I was brought here.  I dont really remember anything else of that night.
Okay, so it took all of that to say your mother is dead at your house. The officer said in a low growl.
Just then the lady grabbed Officer Carl by the arm, and dragged him out of the room into the hall.  I guess she did that so I wouldnt hear anything. But I heard it all I couldnt help it she was yelling so loud.  Are you stupid or something I cant believe you!  Dont you get it? Her mother died last night! Would you just go and contact her Aunt.
She came in a minute later.  I had stopped crying by then, I wasnt even really sad anymore.  Actually I was kind of angry, I was mad at my mother!  Why did she do that why would any one want to kill themselves?
Im so sorry to make you think of all this sweetie, but whats your mothers name and where do you live?
Her name was Sara, Sara Truent.  And we live at 3475 on Florence Avenue.  I replied.
Im also sorry about Carls attitude, hes nothing but a grumpy old man!  And right now hes trying to contact your aunt."
