I'd would like to begin with saying, I began to plan this car quite a while ago, and as I was gathering the dollars ,getting info., I found this car with the mechanical work done. Lucky me, kinda sorta. So having said that, I want to credit Bill Carrothers with the wrench time.....for the turbo related items.
Believe it or not, there is a drop in turbo motor for this car. The motors are off the J-Spec Mazda GTX and GTR cars, small unassuming terrors. They use the same 1.8L engine found in the 2g Ford Escort ,as well as some 90-94 Mazda Protege's. However, a complete engine swap is not entirely necessary, a good NA engine will gladly accept the turbo.
