The Story of Thadd...
Well, back in January of 2003, Stefan Tomlinson, Will Hall, and Josh Gaines all lead the high school worship at their church. At the time, they had each only played their instruments for about a year or so, and Stefan actually just started on drums. So after a while, Stefan and Josh started having little "jam sessions" in his garage after Stefan got his own drum set. Well, realizing that no vocals and no bass wasn't really doing much, they decided to get a bassist and start a little garage band. Will was their first choice.
The band now had about a weekly practice, still at Stefan's house, and they would usually just goof around with worship songs. Eventually, Josh went and wrote an original, his first ever, called Anxiety of Life. He didn't let the band know about this one until later, but the first song that the guys actually started working on as a band was a little tune called You Never.
During the practicing and learning of this song was about the time the next dilemma came along: A name for the band. At the time, they weren't very serious about actually pursuing their music, but they wanted a name just for fun. They went through quite a few suggestions or ideas, but I can only remember a few: INRY, Rock Paper Scissors, Tetelasti...Yeah Right, most people can't even pronounce Thaddeus. Well, these were all flops, and so here's were Thaddeus came from. A freind of the band gave Stefan the nickname: Thaddeus. Actually, they thought the nickname was kinda stupid, but the name itself sounded pretty cool. So, the name Thaddeus is kinda what they settled on just because they couldn't come up with anything else, but they like that name okay.
So, after a while Thaddeus got pretty serious about their music, basically because of their dream to one day make it in the music industry. They wrote a couple of "hit songs," including
The Ninja Turtles Song, That One Song, and Blinded. They have placed in both of the band compititions they have entered, taking 1st in one, 2nd in the other, and have recorded one 4-track demo CD. They now have a total of 18 songs, all of which are in the process of Copyright by ASCAP. They are currently still writing new songs all the time, pursuing to get signed by a record label, and are constantly looking for gigs (so please contact them if you have one!).
