Another Warped Tour for the Americans which brings about another Warped Tour compilation disc. 26 tracks on this one lasting for just over 70 minutes, and all songs claimed to be previously unreleased. Not much really caught my attention on this compilation, I don't know whether it is because I've heard most of these bands before or if most of the tracks on the disc are sub-standard. I liked the track from AFI titled A Winter's Tale. Me First and the Gimme Gimmes belt out a pretty good cover of Elton John's Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me. A song that really hooked me was Midtown's Get It Together. I'm a big fan of this band- highly recommend their LP Save The World Lose the Girl. Tsunami Bomb got me interested with their song Take The Reins, finally a female singer that does very well for herself. And my favourite track on the album, Sleep on It (off their Prisoner of Society single) comes from our very own The Living End. This song has everything, top notch vocals, awesome guitar work and a good old dash of rock. Autopilot Off also continue to impress me with their song Indebted, simply very catchy pop punk. Like it? Their are bands which have severely disappointing songs on the compilation. One mainly coming from Flogging Molly, I've heard good reports and have read pretty impressive reviews regarding their LP Swagger but this track is simply a dud. The Ataris dish out a run of the mill Kris Roe acoustic heartbreak song. Sum 41 submit a live track called Tables of Turned- shithouse. It was slightly painful listening to Fight For Your Life from The Casualties. Bands like Rancid, The Bouncing Souls, A New Found Glory, Swingin' Utters, No Use For A Name and Deviates pretty much deliver what you would expect from them with their tracks.
I don't know, like I said not much really caught my attention. If there are fair few bands you want to check out on this compilation this is probably more for you.
