So in my letterbox arrives an album by a band called Idlewind who are from Scotland. I had never heard of these guys before, not even the name. Well according to their bio they've been round since 1995 and the members met at a party in Edinburgh and shared a passion for Sonic Youth, Black flag and classic dischord punk. This, their second full length titled 1000 Broken Windows hits me right from the start. Admittedly not normally something that would get me in straight away but it does. I can see myself kicking back to the smooth melodies of �Little Discourage� or �Rusty� on a Sunday afternoon. Well what do they sound like you say? I can pick up Brit rock/pop vibe in some of these songs. But it�s all good, laid back melodies coated with unstoppable vocal harmonies. I really suggest you check out this band. And thanks to Redline Records you can. They are building up a quite an impressive roster!
