Deviates - Time is the Distance
This is the music. From song to song it leaves you asking for more. The Deviates serve up a hearty collaboration of melodic guitars doused with the slightest hardcore edge, pacy drum work, passionate vocals and gutsy bass lines. Come With Me, the opening song, really highlights the intesity level at which the Deviates play with, extremely high. Right Back To You and One In Ten are intesified by bone crunching guitars. Disclaimer shows that the Deviates can slow down the pace a little. Their influences of bands like Nirvana and Black Flag really shine through. Time is the Distance, the title track, and The End are fast and furious as they pound out these songs matching it up with very very catchy vocals. All in all a very impressive album, I'm sure we'll be hearing more and more about this band in the future. Check them out now. (Matthew Matanovic)

The Deviates were born in a South Bay garage back in 1994. Back then, they were only fifteeen/sixteen and they were locked up in the garage for two years learning their instruments. As with most starting bands they played backyard parties, recorded a demo tape and passed it on to anyone and everyone. Today, The Deviates are on the biggest punk label in the world, that being Epitaph. This is their second full length release (first on Epitaph) titled Time is the Distance. That's the story.
