Antifreeze - Four Letter Words
The album kicks off with it's strongest tracks. With a million catchy hooks in Is He Your Boyfriend? it's hard not to get interested. Then next is Bankruptcy, another ultra-slick tune that will easily rope you in with it's funky electronics in the background. It's apparent now that Antifreeze write all their songs about girls, girls and girls. Then with the album's third song they introduce their second vocalist. He's got that high-pitched whiney voice which could drive a few mad, the other singer is much more easier to listen to. From then on the album is pretty much straight down the line with a few standouts like On & On with it's commercial aroma, Sorry from Your Friend where the vocals and melodies are top notch and Ides, one of the few songs I enjoyed where the second vocalist was singing. Overall, a fairly good album that the pop-punkers will lap up.

Like they say on the press release, "Four Letter Words represents the fruits of a long search for a new band to follow in the footsteps of The Ataris." It pretty much sums up the album, very Ataris like and the fact that Kris Roe produced it didn't help them much in terms of originality. But the guys are extremely good at what they do and if your a big fan of pop-punk in the vein of The Ataris or Blink 182 then this one is definately for you.
