Anti-Flag - Underground Network

Geez, I just love a band that is passionate about what they sing. If you are as well, Anti-Flag's Underground Network will blow you away.

It is one battle cry after another. It's simply awesome. Anti-Flag put pen to paper as they sing about the issues that should not be put to government slumber in the US. Although not something you can completely relate to, the punk rock kicks in. Vocals consumate with passion, angst, anger, fury, so many things rolled in to one, are the main feature of this album. The vocal melodies of songs like Underground Network, Stars and Stripes and Watch the Right will have you singing along in no time. Anti-Flag show that they can back up their strong opinions with energizing whole-hearted punk rock. Songs like Angry, Young and Poor, Vieques, Puerto Rico: Bikini Revisited are complicated with jolting guitar movements, pounding drumbeats and unbelievable bass lines. They mix it up with tunes like The Panama Deception with the powerful ska direction in the chorus. There is no doubt that Anti-Flag can play their instruments and they add that little extra flavour with their strong political messages. I love it. (Matthew Matanovic)
