When did you guys first start out?
We started out as Munkyz Unkle in 97 and were briefly known as 10Xdummer in 99 for the High School Rock competition.

Could you closely describe the type of music you guys play? What are your main influences?
We play fast melodic mid-core (it's not hardcore or softcore, it's in between) influenced by any bands from Satanic Surfers & Good Riddance to Body Jar or Randy. We don't claim to be anything like these bands, we just listen to them.

At your first gig you played a set of Frenzal Rhomb, Living End and NOFX covers. I'm just curious, do you remember some of the songs you played?
Yeah, we played 'Prisoner of society' 5 or 6 times and 'Run' by Frenzal Rhomb. Oh and 'Leave it alone' by NoFX.

How musically talented were you guys when you started? e.g. did you just go out and decide to buy guitars and learn them or were you previously in other bands.
All 4 of us were in previous bands, and I use the word "BAND" very loosely. As far as talent goes we all have a long way to go so we all learn from each other.

You guys recently got a deal with Fifth Wheel Records. What do you plan to release on that and when?
Is that like a one EP deal or are you looking to release a few things on the label? Nothings set in concrete with Fifth Wheel, we're still discussing terms of contract. At this stage it will be 1 EP and then we'll see how it goes.

Your recent support with the Ataris, was that the best gig you've ever played? Any other gigs that have come close?
We'd be pretty stupid not to say that The Ataris was the best show ever, but I would have to say that the Arena kicked arse over the Palladium.

Any gigs that have gone totally wrong?
There has been plenty that have gone wrong, too many to mention but we learn to get over it and practice harder for the next one. Rapid was the worst for me cause I was getting over a combination of food poisoning, flu and chest infection.

What are your thoughts of the local scene up there in Brisbane? What are some of your favourite local bands?
The bands are unreal, example Jokesonme, Mosespa City Kings, Fetish, Marzeepan, Nob, Knaw..the list goes on. It's disappointing though when no matter what you do there's always someone to cut you down, we don't claim to be anything where not but there so many cynics out there who throw their weight around. It's most upsetting when people accuse us of being arrogant or up ourselves, if people came up and spoke to us they'd realise that we're not any of those things. We also don't go around calling ourselves "punks" 'cause we're not.

And one last question. Just firstly before I ask this question, do you guys have any tatts? If I took you out to get one what specifically would you get?
Joel and myself have tattoos, he has a design across his lower back and both his nipples are pierced, I have a Pennywise symbol on my right calf muscle. My next tattoo is going to be a tribute to my late brother Dean whom I lost in a car accident in 94, it will be similar to Justin Thirsks', but it will be worded differently, either that or I'll get the Downtime 'crying devil' on my left upper arm like a sleeve. Matt has his nose, lip and ears pierced, I've started stretching my lobes and am getting my lip re-pierced, and Tim is yet to be pierced or tattooed.
