what's been happening in the world of jokes on me lately?
writing, writing , writing....gigs are few and far between at the moment...we're changing our sound a little.. getting a bit harder. mik us making us new website too.

when did you guys first start out? and why?
early/mid '00.. first gig was downtime, mainstay, nsr, ba baracus and mouthguard at the railway (not bad 'eh?)- ty and me wanted our own rock band and mik is an old mate who decided to come along for the ride...

any members have any musical experience behind them before joining the band?
yeah, we've all played for years, various bands not worth mentioning, we all play each others insruments when we get bored too (cept i cant play drums - no coordination)

any big influences the band has?
hafta say good riddance, propagandhi, slick shoes, satanic surfers.. you could probably fill this list yourself if youve heard us...

when you guys first got together did you start out playing covers?
no. we muck around and cover songs we like, but mostly just for laughs, we think the bands we like play their songs better than we do, so we dont fuck with that.

any gigs that stick out in your mind (good or bad)?
our last w/e of shows was awesome. we played marzeepans cd lauch out at caboolture on the saturday nite, then the lions den in the city sunday.. theory.of.flight, seconds away, us vs them, rufus baton... all excellent bands.. see them and buy their stuff...

anyone in the band have any pre-gig rituals or supertisions?
tyson drinks. alot. i just try to organize mik (and thats enough)

will jokes on me ever go ska?
no.

if you's do give us the call up, I have a bit of trumpet playing under my belt. haha
haha... yeah, again, its a fuck around thing we do.. i dont know if we'd ever do it in front of anyone... ska's a little dull to play unless your really talented, and we're not really talented, so...

what would one find in a jokes on me showbag?
i love this question! ummm... beer, broken strings/ sticks/ skins, a vegetarian cookbook (with a foreword 'why veganism dont make no sense' by mik), something written by noam chomskey (check him out), hash pipe, a cd or two i guess, lotsa (animal friendly!) biscuits and shite, coupons for kickarse restaurants like garuva, the tibetan kitchen and the windmill pizza cafe, 'jokesonme faghag' girlie-t

if you could choose any company to sponser the band who would it be?
mmm.... tough one. tyson and i would have to discuss that...... someone who made vegan-friendly shoes (their really hard to find)

have you guys played in ipswich yet? i'm just wondering if they get a decent crowd down there or if the place is any good.
yeah.. ipswich is like hardcore heaven. we get to go out there a bit coz troy from theory gets us shows... whata guy.

is your demo selling like hotcakes?
haha... yeah, maybe the out-of-date kind.

the future of jokes on me....what's doing?
ummm.... hopefully a trip down the coast for some sydney/melbourne shows this summer...mmmm.... summer road trip....another cd early next year (we promise it'll be better than our last effort, ok?). other than that... staying independant is important to us, so i guess we'll just be gigging and stuff... if you wanna know about jokesonme, just come up and say gday at a show, we're very nice people.
