MATT: Give us the One Dollar Short story.
MICK: The One Dollar Short story..... ummm. Well Scotte and Tim had a band One Dollar Short. Trent and I had a band 976 moto. Scotte and Tim wanted a better drummer and Trent and I were looking for a singer. After alot of shit Trent and I joined ODS and Scotte gave up guitar. (thats the condensed version) We have been around about 2.5 years, and about a year with Adam on bass.

MATT: What music did you guys grow up on?
MICK: Its hard for me to answer this for everyone, but personally I grew up listening to metal! Scotte and Trent also have metal roots. Tim was and still is into NOFX and Adam was into Sick of it All and Toe to Toe. Nowadays I listen to stuff like, Saves The Day,New Found Glory, The Stryder, Midtown......

MATT: Do you guys have jobs or something or are you guys all on the dole? Would you like to play in One Dollar Short for a living?
MICK: Everyone in the band works except me. Im at Uni doing an IT. degree. Scotte works in HMV, Trent runs a guitar store and Tim and Adam work at a TV station. Would i like to play in ODS for a living? Shit yeh, but at this stage its just not a reality.

MATT: Was From the Start your first ever recording? Are you guys stoked about the popularity of that album?
MICK: From the Start was the first recording for One Dollar Short. Well it was the first recording that was released anyway. The EP has done pretty good considering the amount of promotion that it had. When you release something, i guess you are always really nervous about how it will go and stuff. We are pretty happy with the response though.

MATT: I believe you've recorded a 4 or 5 track single, tell us about that, like when will it be available, what's it called?
MICK: Yeh we just finished recording a single titled "Boardgame". Its our first recording with Rapido. It has 4 tracks a couple of them you might have heard us play live. Its due for release on March 26.

MATT: Are you guys are recording a full length album in March or around there?
MICK: Originally we had planned on recording the album in March, but I dont think that will be the case. I think we will probably record it may or something. Its frustrating for us because all we wanna do is get in the studio and do this album.

MATT: I hear you's are making a video clip...
MICK: Yeh we have just finished a clip for Boardgame. Its pretty much straight down the line, us playing in the studio and stuff.

MATT: You are making your way up here for your 3rd trip to Brisbane, looking forward to that?
MICK: Hell yeh Brisbane is awesome. Its a place we always look forward to coming to. There is always a good turnout to the shows and everyone makes us real welcome.

MATT: Who usually get stuck driving the van? Is it because they don't trust anyone else to drive?
MICK: Dude I am always stuck with driving our van. I dont mind really. I would rather drive than trust anyone else. SCotte falls asleep in like 10 minutes. Its kinda scary.

MATT: What other touring do you have planned for the future? I read somewhere you picked up a few support slots for The Ataris?
MICK: We are going back to melbourne the week after Brisbane. The we have a festival in Sydney in March. And yeh news travels fast, we are doing the NSW shows with the Ataris. That will be crazy.
