Comeback Kid - Wake the Dead (Album)
Their first CD was really good, there was about 5 songs on it that totally rocked and then 2 or 3 that that were one rank under totally rocking, and then there were there rest...Which were classified as the rest. But still a good CD none the less. Let's move things forward shall we? Right on, their new CD Wake the Dead is by far better then Turn It Around..by far! It was recorded in October of 2004, and not released until February 22nd(the day of reckoning). Thus meaning they put a lot of work into it, and it really shows:
1. False Idols Fall - The intro to this song was really good. But is somehting that could only please some people, and it's not usually their sound...Although long time listeners(like I) new what was coming, and went way over expectations. This song has some really good background vocals, which i absolutley love.
2. My Other Side - A typical Comeback Kid song. I love the guitar in this one, and the "What's inside your heart" chanting is awesome. It's got a really good bridge about a minute and some in.
3. Wake The Dead - Pretty self explanatory. It could litereally wake the dead if you played it loud enough.  'Nuff said.
4. The Trouble I Love - Fantastic introduction, then everything else comes in...It's awesome. One part really gets me going, the drums stop, and it's just the guitar and vocals goin at it...Pure gold.
5. Talk Is Cheap - I think there is some guest appearance vocals in this song...Kinda screamer, sounds really good. The drums are really spectacular. God, too hard to describe...Well actually, "Keep Talking, Keep talking away"...Good stuff.
6. Partners In Crime - Intro with vocals and drums sounds amazing. Good/Catchy chorus. At times the instruments will stop, and then go again, it's sooooo good.
7. Our Distance - Goes straight into the song, really fast and theres some good chanting in it. Not much to say, other then the song is really good, with an awesome bridge/secondpart verse.
8. Bright Lights Keep Shining - The guitars and drums really go with the way Scott sings the lyrics. Not to mention theres some really good back ups(another guest I think) singing "This isn't hopeless." I think that is one of my favourite parts of the CD. t's a good fast song...and at the end when it's over theres a little drum doodle, I don't know if it's supposed to be there but..It sounds sweet.
9. Falling Apart -  GREAT SONG, love it, love it, love it, love it, love it, love it, love it, love it, love it, love it, love it, love it, etc.
10. Losing Patience - Another really good song...The intro blows me way, the structure is awesome. I also love drums so it's a plus that they have a good drummer. One thing is that the song doesnt really sound over when it some to the end, but it continues over onto the next track...It's weird, I think they may have had some technical difficulties or something. Guitar is really good and I like the way it is played.
11. Final Goodbye - Quite the appropriate name for the last song, but it doesn't start until 23 seconds into the actual track(Because of human error). But the lyrics are sooo good too, and the way Scott brings em to life is awesome. There's lot's of back up in this song, from beginning to end. "This is my final goodbye" and "Screaming Expectations". Fan-friggin'-Tastic.
I know those descriptions are all a little repetitive but I am at a loss for words. It's the best CD I have ever heard, and yes, it puts up some great competition against the Operation Ivy CD I own(also good). I love Wake the Dead and I love Comback Kid. My name is Spencer and I work for Punkdomain!!

Go buy a shirt.
