Angelic Upstarts is an old band that started during one of the first punk movements, in 1977. They are english, and proud of it. They have an older sound. I think it sounds like a mixture between Cock Sparrer and the Adicts, which comes together to make a totally amazing sound, because Cock Sparrer and the Adicts both own. They also sound the Clash or the Sex Pistols because they were influenced by them. Their lyrics are written from a working class man point of view, or, so they say, but even still they are meaningfully. Angelic Upstarts have been making music for a long time and they are damn good at it. My favorite song is by far "Im an Upstart", but they also have song totally awesome songs like "A Young Punk", "Shotgun Suicide", "Kids On The Street" and "Teenage Warning".They kind of confuse me sometimes because in an interview the vocalist said he wasn't particularily fond of people from african american decent, but in the song Kids On The Street he says "All you kids, black and white, together we are dynamite" But whatever, its not good to focus on racism. Maybe he changed his mind... Oi Oi Oi!!! Im An Upstart, What Ya Gunna Do!?
