| Agnostic Front In 1982, in New York City, a band emerged called Zoo Crew. They soon changed their name to Agnostic Front. And now, after many years of playing and touring together, Agnostic Front has been proclaimed one of the greatest bands of hardcore. They have been around since the begging of hardcore and have basically created what hardcore is today. Agnostic Front is like Bill Gates, which is a weird comparison, but they do hold the same power how so? You could say Bill Gates is the king of computers, and wellAgnostic Front is the king of hardcore, and will remain on their throne for years to come. The name Agnostic Front was thought up by band member Vinnie Stigma. He liked the definition of the word agnostic (to be in doubt of the absolute truth, to question authority). He also wanted more than a bandhe wanted a movement, he wanted front. So it was decided, the bands name would be Agnostic Front. Little did they know at that time that everyone involved in the underground music scene would soon know the name Agnostic Front. They first made a name for themselves with the release of the fifteen-minute LP, Victim In Pain. This one LP basically created what hardcore was and is. It also labeled Agnostic Front as one of the meanest sounding bands in punk. After seventeen years of playing together, after releasing seven albums, and playing hundreds of shows, Agnostic Front still plays with passion, speed and the classic hardcore sound that gave them the status in the scene that they have today. |
