Vlad Tepes

Introduction

We want to speak of a man who has been inspired for several horror stories. He sowed terror in his kingdom by his human cruelty. Vlad Tepes is regarded as one of the most dangerous man of the Middle Ages. In this research, we will wright about his life, we will speak about its atrocities and will speak about the end its life. We hope that you will appreciate our work.

The life ofVlad III (1431-1476)

Vlad III was born in November or December 1431 in the town of Sighisoara in Transylvania. His father, Vlad II (Vlad Dracul), lived in exile in Transylvania. Little is known about the first years of his life . He had an older brother, Mircea and Radu. His first years have been near his/her mother. His true education started in 1436 after his father succeeded in claiming the throne of Wallachia by killing his rival named Danesti. In 1444, at thirteen years age, the young Vlad and his brother Radu were sent to Adrianople like hostages, to alleviate the Sultan. They remained there until 1448, when they were released by the Turks, who supported them as their candidates for the throne of Wallachia. In 1456, under the support of Hunyadi and of the kingdom of Hungary, Vlad is finally crowned king. He chose Tirgoviste as his capital city, and started to build his castle on the mountains near the city. The majority of the atrocities associated with Vlad III took place during this time.

The atrocities of Vlad Tepes

The historical Dracula is recognized for its inhuman cruelty. Empalement was the preferred method of torture of Vlad. Empalement is the most horrible way of diyng, because it is in general slow and very painful. Vlad attached usually a horse to each leg of its victims and a sharp stake was gradually forced in the body. The end of the stake was usually oiled and the care was taken that the stake was not too pointy, otherwise the victim could die too quickly from the shock. Normally the stake was inserted in the body by the bum up to the mouth. However, there were many examples where victims were impaled by other openings of the body, by the abdomen or by the chest. The size of the stake indicated the rank of the victim. The list of tortures used by this cruel prince is read like an inventory of tools fromhell: nails in the heads, cutting of members, puncture of eyes, throttling, burning, cutting of nose and the ears, mutilation of sexual organs and much more...

The deth of Vlad III

In 1469,the Turks finally succeeded tom penetrate Vlads castle. People said that that night, one of his wives jumped off the balcony rather than be captured by the Turks. Vlad escaped from the castle thanks to a secret passageway and he found refuge in the Transylvanian mountains. He died afterwards bymany diseases..

Conclusion

We learned a lot on Vlad Tepes by completing this work. This man was very crual and he killed people just to amuse himself.Today, a man like him will immediately be put in prison.
