Chicago police say a 15-year-old was shot in the calf at the Taste of Chicago this evening as hundreds of thousands of people gathered for the city's Fourth of July fireworks display. Police spokeswoman Amina Greer says the boy was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital and was in good condition. He was treated and released. Police say officers took three people into custody after the incident near the intersection of Michigan Avenue and Balbo Drive. Greer says police believe there was a disturbance in the crowd before the shooting but do not believe the victim was involved.
