QUASAR, also known as Gaysar or Queersar started in 1999(pretty close to the end of that year).  Troy (drums) and Jordan (guitar) formed the band.

They soon needed a bass player.  Everyone they knew wasn't very good, (kind of like them) so they asked a guy Jordan knew named Andrew to come to one of their practices.  Since they needed a bass player they ask him if he would play with them. Andrew said yes and he was in.

A few weeks later a guy named Pete wanted to be in the band.  Pete said he was really good, (way better then Andy) And he was.  Pete also had microphones/ equipment.  So Pete was in the band.

QUASAR now consisted of 4 kids named Jordan (guitar), Troy (drums), Andy (bass), and Pete (bass).  The band stayed like this for about 3 days until Troy and Jordan relized that 2 bass players in a band is kind of gay.  So they had to kick someone out of the band.  Since Andy wasn't very good and didn't have his own bass.  Troy and Jordan kicked him out.  It was very hard and sad but they had to do it.

QUASAR now consisted of 3 kids.  Jordan, Troy, and Pete.  QUASAR stayed this way for about a half a year.  The 3 didn't practice much and when they did it would be a mess.  The 3 unfortunately did play at there Grade 9 grad.  They played two Christian songs. They thought they did horrible.  It was.  The 3 practiced almost every saturday in the summer mostly playing cover songs.  They only had three of there own songs. QUASAR also played in church one sunday.  They accompanied 3 singing girls, they played about 4 or 5 songs.  Afterwards people told them they did really good and they should do it again soon.  So apparently people thought they weren't too bad.

The 3 were progressing good together until a little less than half way though Grade 10.  The band wasn't really practicing much and they wanted to kick Peter out of the band.  They didn't like him and he seemed to be loosing his talent in playing bass.  They were to scared to kick Pete out  so they stoped telling him about the practices they were having.  They got together for one last house party gig and then they kicked Pete out of the band.

Since having a bass player is quite important, they tried to think of who had a bass and who knew how to play one.  They thought of a guy named Geoff.  Even though Geoff didn't have a bass they wanted him in the band because he liked punk music and was big and tough.  Jordan was going to go into bass playing for the band while Troy stayed on drums and Geoff played his old skool Ibanez guitar.  Since Jord didn't have a bass it would take him awhile to go out and buy one.  Jord never did buy that bass and never did get into playing bass.  Thats when Ben came into our lives.  He was a good-looking football player,  we thought he would improve our young and old female fan base.  Ben bought a bass even though he wasn't in the band yet.  We put him on a trial period (about 5 or 6 weeks).  when Ben left his bass at Troys for a couple days Troy played it and was 100 times better then Ben was.  Ben didn't know a thing and Troy could play a bunch of different punk and rock songs.  We joked about kicking Ben out of the band numerous times and he took it really seriously.  He said that he would slit our necks if we kicked him out.  That made us scared so we waited along time.  Finally we gave him the boot and he cried about it.

Now QUASAR was a 3 person punk band with two guitars and no bass.  Two guitars is cool, you can do a lot with two guitars but not having a bass, hum.  The band didn't have a bass player for about a year.

The new year means new QUASAR.  At the end of 2001 the band was talking about getting a bass playa in the band.  Troy knew a very musical guy that he hung out with and skated with when he was growing up.  His name is Chris, Chris is in grade 9 now and he is a very positive addition to QUASAR.  We will soon have more informaton about him and some pictures.

QUASAR played some more shows at some schools and some other little joints.

Throughout the year 2002 QUASAR wanted to change their name.  They went through names like, The Vitals, Sike-0-Paths, SDMU, The Fuzz, The Skelters.  And Sooo many more.  Some stuck for more the a week, But then a couple days before the QUASAR DESTRUCTION SHOW they thought of the name MISTAKEN YOUTH, it stuck, now they are Mistaken Youth.

The Quasar Destruction Show was MISTAKEN YOUTH's first show and it went really well.  Reuben Mahaffy played.  He opened up for the Pasty Whites and they open up for MISTAKEN YOUTH.

Now MISTAKEN YOUTH is recording about 10 of their songs to sell, and to create a "demo" out of.
