Anime. As much as I am obsessed, I think it would be a little bit nicer to have a section with brief reviews rather than heavy duty ratings and art that slows traffic. Consequently, I made one site compiling many more series that I have seen. ^-^! Most of these I have not seen or read the entire series of, so I just did little blurbs about each one. Arigato!

Name: Peach Girl Genre: Romance / Reality Length: 4 manga books so far - it's still being written! Summary: Peach girl is the story of Momo, a high school swimmer who tans easily and is mistaken for a "bad girl." She falls in love with a boy named Toji, but her wicked "friend" Sae causes unspeakable complications and does all in her power to ruin the relationship and Momo's reputation. Momo is befriended by Wily Kily, who is loyal to her and always helps her feel better, but is always after the girls. Rating: 5 stars! Peach Girl is absolutely fabulous. I for one always fancied I greatly disliked romance, but the focus is more on the constant obstacles. Miwa Ueda really makes you HATE Sae and get frustrated at Toji, making for an addicting and beautiful manga. |

Name: Revolutionary Girl Utena - the Movie. Genre: Romance, French-style fencing. Length: Many eps, but I've only seen the movie. Summary: ?! Utena the Movie is the story of Utena, a girl who was raised by a prince and was so impressed she wanted to be a prince herself. She goes to an academy and receives the Mark of the Rose - a sign that she was to be a duelest for the power (and body) of the Rose Bride. When she meets the strange Bride, however, she slowly falls for her and stays in the tourney intent on winning her to freedom. However, dark truths about the Rose Bride's Power, her beloved Prince Touga, and the academy itself slowly become unraveled. Rating: 2 stars. I'm sure if I saw the series it would make more sense, but the movie was abstract to the point of being drugged and horribly confusing. At least it had beautiful moments and nice music!

Name: Steel Angel Kurumi Genre: Adventure, sci-fi, romance Length: I've seen 6 eps; there are around 18. Summary: Kurumi is a Steel Angel created for battle. She is accidentally activated, however, by Nakahito, a naive young mystic at a temple nearby the old house where she was created. She immediately falls in love with him and insists on him being her master, but complexities arise as the military tries to take Kurumi back for fighting. Other Steel Angels are introduced - Saki and later Karinka - but none of them act as predicted. Will the military never leave off?! Rating: Kyuuin! Five stars from what I've seen so far! The anime is absolutely hilarious -- it's feel good and kawaii, with silly characters and nice music. To top of the wonder, every episode begins with instructions to make sure the room is brightly lit and one is a safe distance from the television. It oozes inside jokes.
Name: Martian Successor Nadesico Genre: Sci-fi, Romance, Adventure Length: 5 tapes of anime. Summary: Nadesico is a battleship destined for Mars, where the colonies were destroyed by mysterious unmanned machine insects. Akito, a survivor who is intent on being a cook, constantly finds himself doing fighter pilot work aboard the Nadesico, all the while surrounded by enthusiastic girls - one of which is the Captain Yurika, his childhood friend. But how can Akito fight when he realizse the true nature of the enemy Jovian Lizards? Rating: 5 stars again. Nadesico is an incredibly powerful anime, but the deep insight and theme on human nature is cleverly surrounded by absolutely wonderful comic relief. The entire anime contains another anime - Gekigangar 3 - and is a true parody of animes everywhere... a wonderful thing to laugh at!

Name: Victory Battle Athletes (Battle Athletes Victory) Genre: Sport, adventure Length: Not sure; I've seen 3 tapes and a movie. Summary: The Battle Athletes are an elite group of Athletes from all over the world. In the movie, an alien race attacks and agrees for peace if it can be defeated in a tournament. Akari and a group of friends are trained rigorously to beat the superhuman alien creatures in sports, and all along the way inner conflicts and relationships spring up all around. Rating: Three stars -- Battle Athletes is average. There's nothing really bad about it, but there's nothing great either. It has a few memorable quotes that kick it up a notch from a two-and-a-half, and some fun characters in it. The plot is somewhat original, but there many weird relationships and overemotional moments that made me twitch. The music was okay.
