The Third One (The Christmas Assembly):

The first goal of the band was achieved on this day, but unfortunately not by all the members. It was our plan when we started to practise for a year and then perform Blink-182s I Wont Be Home For Christmas in the Schools annual Chrimbo assembly.

Well we performed a bit before then and we didnt start practising the song until only one or two practise sessions before the performance as usual.

Adam had moved to Peterborough temporarily so we requested the drumming skills of the amazing musician Alex Willy, but we never practised with him before the gig.

The plan was for Ash and Tim to sing the song, but unfortunately Ashs asthma created a big problem for him and he was not able to make it. He told us a few nights before and I tried to learn the lead guitar bits, but unfortunately I was still extremely crap then and I couldnt get them in time.

So the night before the day it had to be done, Tim took on the responsibility of the lead guitar bits, however he could not play and sing at the same time if he was playing the guitar, so we asked Pink Fish member Joelle Green to sing for us and she agreed.

We hadnt practised with her before the performance either, but she did very well and sang completely in tune which had never happened in this band before, Alex made up the drums, having only heard the song once before and apart from dropping his stick and the last chorus being totally fucked-up it went pretty well.

I dyed my hair pink for the occasion and the others had Christmas hats.
