(in old saybrook)
stop and shop/wal mart (pics coming soon)
this is one of my favorite places to skate. it rocks.
it has lots of free space for those flatground tricks,
lots of sewer drains to do stuff over, and well-
sliding curbs galore. skate across the parking lot to
the back of stop and shop nand you have yourself a 5 foot
high loading dock complete with a 7 stair and a long
curb-high mulch gap going off the end. i could skate
this place for hours. there's also lots of stuff to find
and put together to build some cool stuff, being how its
the back of a major supermarket. ill try to get some pics
of this place and post them up soon.
the farside(pics coming soon)
this place is where all the skaters in town meet to skate after school, and where we all usually meet up to go out and hit the town. even if you dont meet here to go out into town, there is enough here to entertain you for days. there's 2 picnic tables, planters, benches, a nearby gazebo with sets of 3 and 4 stairs going off the sides into rocks. these rocks are good and bad because if youre trying to land a new trick down the stairs, the rocks are good so it's easier to land, but it sucks because if you have the urge for some stairs, you cant roll away from these. theres also 2 basketball courts that are barely ever used, so you have plenty of room for those flatground games of SKATE. skate over to the baseball field, and you have yourself 2 sets of bleachers. one is metal, and the other is wood. we all usually skate the metal one when doing grinds, and we usually use the other one to ollie off of, which is how i broke that bone in my ankle. R.I.P. green bleachers.the farside is also near the center of town, and theres a nearby convenience store, rivermart, to get drinks and other stuff. the farside is the place we all skate and hang out at the most.
