Relena and Trowa?
Heh, well, there's been a few fics along those lines actually. Though, it was rather obvious Relena was completely occupied with Heero (and being Queen of the World and such). This really isn't about their relationship, but more about straight pairings with Trowa in general. I don't see it. If you ask my opinion, (and by clicking the link you *did*, no flames) Trowa is straight up... gay. It's not even that I prefer him yaoi (I love yaoi Quatre but I don't seriously think he was portrayed as gay within the series.) Why do I think this? It's more than just the tight jeans, and "Flock of Seagulls" hair do, that's for sure.
Trowa was hinted to having feelings for, or having been involved in some way with, at least four guys. The first was Ralph, a former fellow mercenary who seems very close to Trowa. There was the real Trowa Barton from Endless Waltz treating Nanashi (Trowa's... real name, I suppose) like a 'very special friend.' I've already discussed the hints we found in his interactio with Heero, and Quatre. Okay, you might say, Trowa's desireble to a lot of people, but doesn't that include women? Well, Trowa was never shown to have any female love interest. (If you haven't seen the series, you might say Catherine, but baby, you're wrong.)
Trowa also seems to have a warped attitude towards women. Not surprising considering he grew up in an all male mercenary group. He seems to have idealized them, made them almost completely into a kind of mother-goddess figure. He thinks they're different, more compassionate, more kind, more open than any guy. While that's pretty refreshing when compared to Wufei's outdated (but well meaning) chauvenism I think it's a real barrier to any relationships he could have with a woman. What girl could live up to the image Trowa has of women? Not many.
I think Trowa respects, and admires women, but I doubt he desires them. Remember he spent most of his pre-adolescent and adolescent years with boys his age and older. And the only woman he seems to have gotten close to was not seen a sexual light. It's very likely that Trowa just 'prefers the company of men.' Add that to the cloudy past he had with the mercenaries, there's a very good case to support that Trowa is gay. To me, there's no doubt, he one of the most well (and subtely) done gay characters I've ever seen in an anime.
