Odin
GOD OF WAR
The oldest and cheif of the Aesir (the race of Norse Gods).  Odin rose to prominence in the pantheon because of his love for battle.  This made him popular with the Vikings when they went raiding out of Scandinavia.  To his great fortress hall Valhalla he gathered those slain in battle.  Called the Einherjar (glorious dead), these warriors were preserved by Odin to supplement the Gods in the final battle against the giants of Ragnarok.  Each day Odin sent two ravens Hugin and Munin to gather knowledge from the world and report it to him.
