You came to our house one night
Into a back shed you thought would be right
But the squeaks and squeals made quite a sound
And the humans were surprised at what they found

Four kittens and a frightened mother
Our own feelings we had to smother
We were not sure how you would fare
So we gave you much love and care

The love and affection returned was great
You turned out to be a loving mate
You shared your life with us for many years
When it ended, it brought much sadness and many tears
