Searching for Hope

This morning the sun rises above the horizon;
Today I arise and force a new outlook to open.
Inviting hope and peace to pour into my being;
And clarity to shine o'er pain's dimness in seeing.

Diving deep to reconnect my fractured soul,
Knowing that somehow I will reach my goal...
I will, I will, survive it all, never a victim again,
But in small steps each day, I don't know when.

Must have faith that walking this path is enough,
Going too slowly for some, for others too rough.
But knowing someday I'll feel whole in the end
Able to return to love, to family, and to friend.
