Rebirth of Spring

© February 15, 1999
Amongst stands of willow, fir, and oak
Scattered 'round the mellow blue lake,
The source of serenity which I oft' spoke
For peace, tranquility, and poetry's sake.

Once again yellow shores now to green
With sunlight & warmth, slowly do turn.
Hope born anew, my will becomes keen,
Passion's fire dost ignite and again burn.

Winter's long rest now draws to an end,
The cease of overt slumber for the world.
In harmony, Earth's rebirth I do attend,
In joy, witness new growth now unfurled.

As plans and hopes start to become actions,
More and more complete each passing day.
I'm focused on the whole — not fractions,
As rolled out before me, I see Spring lay.

Still, chill wind dost blow upon the field...
O'er the lake's waves and harsh upon me...
But willows green and the cold dark is peeled,
From Winter's harsh grip, Spring breaks free.
