Portage from Despair to Hope

Embarrassment at the pain I feel
Concealing tears because of this ordeal.
Fear at the thought of seeing the rapist again.
Disappointment after what might have been.

Hiding my pain and my fears,
Wiping away a mass of tears,
Wantonly desperate to get through the day;
Exhausted by a lack of sleep and of play.

A ray of hope? I thought my fate was already sealed;
I try to pry it open, to have a different fate revealed.
Attempting to change course, following a different stream
To a different end, with my situation able to be redeemed.
