<BGSOUND SRC="lawrence_of_arabia.mid">
NAMES (From Left to Right): Sadiq (friend), Akil (intelligent) and Zia (light)

AGES: 4, 2, 2

BREED: Rimilan Gazelle Hounds

LOOKS: They all have the wiry, leggy look found in gazehounds. They resemble gazelles themselves. Akil's dark coat makes him stand out against the desert sands, but Sadiq and Zia are well camoflauged.  Akil has a white tip to his muzzle, a white blaze on his chest and white toes on his hind paws that make him very distinctive. Akil and Sadiq are dogs, Zia is a bitch. Akil is the tallest and strongest of the three.

PERSONALITY: Sadiq is the oldest of the three and therefore the wisest and most sensible. He is obedient and fleet, well suited to his role as a hunter of gazelle and desert hares. Isn't really the aggressive type, will defend Saqr if necessary but prefers a quiet, unobtrusive life. He's probably the most sweet tempered of the three.
Akil, as his name suggests is highly intelligent, but at the same time he can be tempermental. He is also very swift and an accomplished hunter. Is slightly less obedient than Sadiq. Has a tendency to bite strangers, and can not tolerate small children as they tease him. His black coat means he suffers from the heat and this make him extra irratable.
Zia is the only bitch in the pack. She is usually obedient but can at times display a willful streak. Like Akil and Sadiq she is loyal and well suited to her task. She is the swiftest of the three.
All three dogs demonstrate an extremely high prey drive, and will snatch up and kill small creatures such as cats, rabbits etc, often before Saqr has  a chance to recall them.

BRIEF HISTORY:
Not much to tell really. They are the hunting hounds of Saqr Ibna Altair of Rishada. All three dogs were gifts, Sadiq was a gift from her Father, Akil from her Uncle and Zia from a close friend.

The dogs are mostly employed in the coursing of desert gazelle, hares or occasionally rabbits. Saqr usually calls them off before they can pull down their prey, but occasionally Akil and Zia exert their willful streak and go for the kill anyway. However if the gazelle can stay ahead for long enough the dogs give up - they won't waste valuable energy and water on a fruitless task. Sadiq has an almost unique gift of being able to catch hares and rabbits live. He is soft mouthed and can often bring the prey to Saqr without so much as a scratch on it, in which case the animal is released to live another day.

The dogs travel almost everywhere with Saqr, except into open combat. You will rarely see the Falcon of the Falcon's Glade without her hounds.
