Alternative Medicine, like Homeopathy, Acupuncture etc., is also geared
on Information Technology highway.
When a homeopathic
physician deals with a
patient, he also needs consultation of Materia Medica
and Repertory Books. For a homeopathic physician it is a very
difficult task to search for some specific symptoms in repertory book which matches with a remedy. After finding the remedy he also
needs confirmation of that remedy from Materia Medica.
The searching of
symptoms may take hours and is not limited to one book, so he also needs
to consult some other books, because it is not possible to find each and
every aspect of a particular remedy in one book. Maybe some other
physician (author) had experienced some other hidden effects of that
remedy.
Homeopathic remedies are used for being experimented
on human beings. This process is called PROVING.
It is difficult for a homeopath to remember all the huge
works of the classical
masters and it is also impossible to remember each and every word or
line of Repertory. To solve this problem classical masters have prepared
books with specific symptoms related to a remedy

and for the first time they designed computer program. They
converted the bulky books of Kent and
Boericke repertories into Electronic repertories. With the help of
computer program homeopaths become able to get each line of the required
information in both repertories. This process can be completed with the
help of computer database search system.
In
homeopathy, the process of selection of remedy on the basis of symptoms
is called ‘Repertorization ‘. When computer is involved in the
process, now it is termed as “Computer Aided Repertory Analysis”.
With
the help of computer database management system, homeopaths can easily
understand homeopathy in depth. Database management system has
revolutionized repertorization system. Countless megabytes of hard disk
, and just click away from user.
Now,
homeopaths are not required to keep books in their shelves or big
cupboards, not even pencil and note book. All they have to do is just to
click the mouse button. They may not find a relevant book in cupboard
but can not overlook the book on the computer screen.
Before
going in detail about homeopathic software, it is important to indicate
for homeopathic students who are in the initial and middle stages of
their studies. It is recommended that these software are not for their
use because this is not the proper time for them to use computer to
become an experienced homeopath.
