Electro Pulse
ALSO KNOWN AS The cyber journalist,
Logan (birthday - Nov. 11th) comes from a wealthy family and was married at least once to a woman named Valerie (they are now divorced). It's possible this was the "lady friend" he was with on his Uncle's yacht when the pulse hit. Their marriage broke apart over her behavior due to alcoholism. Eyes Only came along after Valerie. Nathan Herrero seems to have been one of the inspirations for his alter ego as an underground cyber-journalist. Herrero was Logan's mentor and they were collogues in the Pacific Free Press. Herrero's stories made him the enemy of everyone from the cops, to the mob, to political figures. If there was a wrong, he would write about it. Because of his long list of enemies, when he disappeared (about 2018) Logan thought one of these many enemies had killed him.
In 2020, Logan met Max when she broke into his house and beat up his ex-cop bodyguard Peter. At the time he was offering protection to the Lauren Braganza and her child, Sophy.
Impressed with her skill (and pleased that she was only their to steal and not kill the witness he was protecting), he became intrigued. He "borrowed" security video from the building next door. Found out the name of the currier she worked for, bribed her boss for an address, searched her apartment and found her in "Crash" (her hang out) where he introduced himself. He left the statue she was trying to steal (Egyptian goddess Bast) in her apartment. it had it's desired effect, an angry Max showed up at his home. He tried to talk her into joining "Eyes Only".
By baiting her with information he had found out about her past, it didn't work.
Soon after he was shot by Sonrisa's men, who kidnapped Sophy and also shot and killed his bodyguard Peter. Lauren got away. Though he was suppose to die, Logan (of course) didn't. And Max saved him from being blown up in a hospital room while unconscious and took care of the Sonrisa. Six months later Max came back to check on him. Logan had suffered a spinal injury and had to use a wheel chair, but it hadn't stopped him from his freedom fighting through "Eyes Only". He thanked Max for what she had done for him and asked her again to join "Eyes Only". Once again she refused, until he baited her with information again on her brother "Zack". She agrees to help him "save the world" through "Eyes Only" in exchange for help finding her siblings (and the mysterious Hannah).
Logan now has a personal trainer named "Bling", so it looks like he may walk again. But his physically disabled state somtimes leaves him frustrated. Despite having problems dealing with it, it has in no way stopped, slowed, or harmed his freedom fighting. Even gentically engineered superhuman Max would have found herself dead or back at manticore without Logan's interference. Logan has also found himself drawn to Max on a very personal level, often cooking dinner for the two of them. He stayed with her during one of her "bad" seizures, erased arrest records when she found herself in jail, manipulated a rescue when she found herself trapped on Sedro Island, and even traded himself once to save her from a hotel that terrorist (The May 22nd movement) had taken over. However, he was thrown off the roof of the same hotel and saved by Max.
Max helped him when Nathan Herrero's daughter "Alina" came to him trying to find out what happened to her father. Logan, who felt drawn to the girl out of loyalty to his slain mentor/martyr. He was disappointed to find out he was still alive (a feeling Max didn't share) and then guilty when it turned out Alina had played them so she could gain access to her father and kill him (for a price). But unbeknownst to all of them Herrero had prepared a tape for Logan with evidence against a soon to be elected dirty Police commissioner, Alan Lans. Logan received it post mortem and used the information on his cyber hack. Even Max was moved by this emotional Eyes Only.
Realizing how much danger he often put her in, he once offered Max a gun, which she refused. This surprised him. In the meantime Max has fulfilled her promise to help him and he found Hannah for her and helped her escape from the wrath of Lydecker. And when clues about Zack's presence surfaced, Logan helped Max find him. He also helped Max and Zack when their "sister" Brin was kidnapped.
Logan's ex-wife popped back into his life for a second and Logan found himself enamored of her again. These hopes were dashed when Max reluctantly told him his ex-wife was trying to scam money from him. After some misdirected anger at Max, he gave Val the money and let her go.
Logan's spinal injury did finally take a turn for the worse. It was during this time that he missed Max's calls for help and the bounty out on her head, a first for him. But as soon as Zack informed him of the situation, he ignored his own pain to lend a hand and decided not to burden Max with the problem. This didn't stop her from risking her own life to come to him anyway and giving her blood to save him.
