PRACTICALS - BIG PICTURE My practical desires in 2007-2008... (Yeah, I dream of pie in the sky. Mmm, mmm, pie!) WISHES GRANTED!!!!! 1) My brother graduated happily and healthily w/ his B.A. in Music in May 2004. 2) I figured out my Master's degree: I'm finishing it at Salisbury University's School of Social Work. 3) I paid-off my undergrad student loans! Hooray! And took out more Grad student loans, but at a lower interest rate, thanks to God. WISHES OUTSTANDING: 1) World Peace (Why can't we all work out our differences peacefully? Martin Luther King Jr. said something to the effect that true peace is not an absence of conflict, but the presence of mutual respect. A tall order to fill for one of the richest and most powerful nations in the world...?) 2) To honor the memory of my mother and sister, my family, and all of those who have invested so much in my success, by being the very best that I can be: to my family, friends, neighbors, and myself. 3) To alleviate suffering in the world with what ever I can spare from my abundance of blessings from God. Whether this is with a smile, a kind word of encouragement, or some other show of support. 4) To figure out what to do with the rest of my life, like getting my degrees in Art & Drama Therapy... 5) To stay in good physical shape. 6) To help enable my church to purchase a building of their own. 7) To help my father find meaning and satisfaction in his retirement; this is just the beginning, Dad. 8) To get organized by purchasing and using a PDA. 9) To pay off my existing student loans, get my finances in line, and buy an apartment or house (this will have to wait until after college, I'm afraid.) *sigh!* 10) To find a girlfriend. ... (No, not just any girlfriend!) ... 100) To buy a new car that does not run on gasoline (or any other fossil fuel, ideally). |
