This column is dedicated to those old songs that makes us remember
certain somethings from our "rich" past, when we were once nymphets
(flashback que and... action!) and for this issue I picked this
song because this was the very first Christian Song that i heard
that i actually dig, no offense to other Christian bands but, to
tell you the truth i didn't even know this is a Christian song until
i listened intently to the lyrics because for me the song was hard-edged
and cool, and until know whenever i listen to it, i still remain
mesmerized... and i also know for a fact, that the maker of this
website is somewhat tied to this song too so, i won't delay it much
longer here it is, ponder and weep..
Old School Tunes
Rain rain on my face
Flood (Jars of Clay)
Hasn't stopped raining for days
My world is in flood
Slowly I become one of the mud
But if i can't swim after forty days
And my mind is crushed by the crushing waves
Lift me up so high that i cannot fall
Lift me on
Lift me up when i'm falling
Lift me up, i'm weak and i'm dying
Lift me up, i need you to hold me
Lift me up, keep me from drowning again
Downpour on my soul
Splashing in the ocean i'm loosing control
Dark sky all around
Can't feel my feet touching the ground
But if i can't swim after forty days
And my mind is crushed by the crushing waves
Lift me up so high that i cannot fall
Lift me on
Lift me up when i'm falling
Lift me up, i'm weak and i'm dying
Lift me up, i need you to hold me
Lift me up, keep me from drowning again
Calm storms that drenched my eyes
And dry the stream still it flows
Casting down our ways as if
And guilt thats overflowing
But if i can't swim after forty days
And my mind is crushed by the crushing waves
Lift me up so high that i cannot fall
Lift me on
Lift me up when i'm falling
Lift me up, i'm weak and i'm dying
Lift me up, i need you to hold me
Lift me up, keep me from drowning again...
