The party managed to evade a gang of thugs, but was stopped by a second group, where battle took place, which included the first group who had followed the party.
Due to the party's outstanding skill, they killed both groups, without any casualties on themselves, though reportedly some were wounded, and a human shield of the thugs was killed.
They soon found the cave hideout of the giant and his gang. The hostages were in the cave, three of them being prepared to be cooked, one of them standing and being held in the human shield position. At this point, the party negotiated for the hostages' release. Jadon Woodworker claimed the party consisted of a priest of Gorm, a gravedigger, the guards of the inn, and a single ranger, Kelnar Nightwolf.
After one of the hostages was released, Morgalad Ringor blew a horn which caused the giant to run off in fear, and the rest of the hostages were bought. The thugs, fearing the return of the giant, left the cave, saying the giant would be mad if he came back to see all his food had been sold off.
Later, Jadon Woodworker complained that the rangers should have participated more in freeing him and his friends and family, as only one ranger was present. Next month, on Satyr's day evening, he will be present at a meeting to discuss the rangers and the law enforcements. He claims that the rangers should enforce laws more, using the attack on the priest of Gorm as an example.
