This is is an old debate , which involved all conscious foneros since long time.

Perhaps the fail in resolving Google adsense servers is due to a malfunction at this time , but the policy adopted by FON is definitely evil.

Infact with fixed name resolution FON can trace your navigation , selectively banning your services , slowing down your name resolution and so on.

So here's my personal list of todo's for next firmware patch.

1. Open the ssh port
2. allow third part firmware to be flashed into la fonera
3. wipe out your dns server in resolv.conf , let the dhcp assign one or make the possibility to insert one via web gui (possible even now but only with fixed ip settings)

Sometimes when you surf some websites or blogs, you see Google Ads (or ads from programs of the same nature) up and down and right and left and even inside the text, which makes you guess that the owner wants you to click on an ad for any price. they costumize these ads in a way that they look as elements and links making part of the website.

They are not aware that they are making people disgusted from the website's look, even when the content is interesting. All that they have in mind is cash and cliks, nothing than clicks. It is legitimate to try make extra money, or even a big money from these websites, but this way they are missing the most important thing, the loyalty of visitors (who are indirectly the real source of income).

People are not that stupid and do make difference between the editor that wants to communicate and give valuable content, and the mad cash seeker, spamming his web pages with keywords and ads here and there.

I have read many ebooks teaching people how to maximize Google Ads returns. What they did is make the web more and more useless, inviting people to publish any content that can be related to a certain high paying keyword. They got what they want, making cash, but not by Google Adsense, but by selling their ebooks. I think someone who makes "$500 or $1000 a day" from Google Adsense will have no interest sharing his experience with those beginner webmasters for some dollars.

I know many websites hiring a large number of journalists and editors, and publishing no more than one or two ads on their pages. Are they losing their money paying those writers? I don't think so. I think that, once you have a good content and a loyal audience, advertisers will run to get their banners or links on your pages with your conditions. I also think, as we are talking about Adsense, that Google will serve the best paying and the most interesting Ads and links to your website, not because they want to give you gifts, but because they know that people that visit your web pages are serious people looking for interesting content, just like yours.

The best way, I think, to make your Google advertising more lucrative, is to concentrate on content, on good and original content. This requires a hard work, but I am sure that it is hard work that brings hard cash!

What are Google Adwords?

Google AdWords are small text ads that appear next to the search results on Google. In addition, these ads appear on many partner web sites, including NYTimes.com (The New York Times), Business.com, Weather.com, About.com, Lycos.com, iVillage.com newsletters and many more.

However, you cannot simply add Google Adwords to your site or sites and sit back to wait for the check. Unless you are a SEO (Search Engine Optimization) expert, chances are you need help.

One of my internet marketing coaching students recently asked me this question, when should i apply for Google Adsense?

First, the details about this program as listed at www.google.com/adsense so you can read more about this money making program before you join it.

Before applying, you should think of these points:-

a) What website are you using to apply? That domain name / website should already have a few contents pages and no under construction webpages.

- if you are using a BLOG to apply then the best choice is to use your Blogger account (Google�s blog website will display your blogs as id.blogspot.com such as http://1discountshopping.blogspot.com )

- contents on your website do not mean that you just cut and paste some images there, or add in a full list of affiliate programs but to really write useful tips / contents related to the topic of your website.

b) When creating your google adsense account, please make sure that you use your correct / real name as they will make the cheque payable to that name. Sometimes in Asia many are confused about their First name and Last name

- First name is your name eg May Ling while Last name is your Surname like Tan or Wong. If your name is Wong May Ling but the cheque is paid to May Ling Wong (as in US, the Last name is normally placed at the back), you don�t have to worry as this can still be cleared by your local bank whether you are in Malaysia or India.

- If you wish to use an English name which is not listed in your identification card then it�s better of that you register the name for the Google adsense account or your future joined affiliate programs using your �as per identity card / bank account name�

c) One more pointer to remember is to �hold� your cheque payments from Google Adsense. For international website owners, they will issue a cheque and mail to you for each US$100 that you earn from this publisher program. However, if you are clearing this cheque out of USA, then you will need to bear your local bank charges that varies from each country. For instance, in Malaysia, a US Dollar cheque can be charged at RM25 to RM35 per cheque so the total amount that you receive at the end, will be a lesser amount. Moreover it will take about 21 working days before the cheque that you bank in will be cleared into your account.

What are the types of websites not approved or rejected for Google Adsense program? These include gambling, pornographic, and illegal activities website. Therefore, whether you have a personal blog or a managing a manufacturing factory�s website, you can still earn money by placing Google adsense there.

After you have 1 registered google adsense account, you can use the codes provided inside the Google adsense�s member area for your other blogs or websites. We�ll be bringing you more pointers about this topic in upcoming blog postings.

I will be honest and say that I have stayed away from this particular ebook. I have never been a fan of so much hype. I just got so sick and tired of everyone promoting the hell out of this product, and when you can not find even ONE person willing to say one shortcoming on a product - something is not right and I run the other way. But I also have to applaud him on the fantastic copy he used that generated so much hype and frenzy. And that has become his calling card or trademark and no doubt he has made a lot of money off of it - so kudos to his success.

I surfed around the net trying to find someone who would actually tell me a bit more about the product, what skills it builds off of, what level of internet marketer it would work for, what were the shortcomings, etc. I did finally come across one website - Ewen Chia's Secret Affiliate Weapon - a site that I joined for the fact that it was so cheap - a mere $9 - but more on that later. Ewen believed that there was nothing new to this product and was not promoting it - I read his review he had some good points. But then again Ewen's products are in direct competition with Affiliate Project X. - so I expected some conflict of interet there, and what better place to get a review.

A few weeks later, after all the dust settled I decided that I would purchase the product and began applying it to the Google Profits method I was already using. I applied several of the techniques to one campaign and I saw impressive results immediately. I tested it on a second campaign and saw no change, I tested it on and third campaign and again I saw a slight improvement. What kind of improvement? Well my sales doubled for the first product. While Ewen's review claimed that this product contained nothing new, in fact he pointed to several different reports in which he had covered these different techniques. But I certainly learned some new techniques and I found them all in one report. While I am sure that Ewen did infact cover this information already, I did not want to sift through several different reports when it was all right here. And I stress techniques because that is exactly what they are - the latest stuff that appears to be working in the world of adwords. Now I have no idea how long this will remain the case. In the end I had to admit that I really liked this product and I was not expecting to come away with a success story. But in the end it kicked my GoogleCash process up several notches. And it shed the light on some real techniques that I know the "experts" are using but just not readily sharing with the rest of the world and for good reason why.

So you are going to find Affiliate Project X beneficial if you are not already using advanced affiliate techniques. I would highly recommend it for anyone using the Google Profits or Google Cash methods and have a few campaigns up and running. These are the advanced techniques that will make that method profitable again. If you have already taken an advanced affiliate marketing training, then this ebook is not necessary - by that I mean, you ponyed up the big bucks for Ewen's course or Affiliate Classroom to name just a few. But I consider it the next level of the Google Cash method (I should mention that I believe this product comes from the same author - though for this book he calls himself Chris X.) If nothing else, sign up for the free email course and see if you like what you read. I always recommend that because that way you will get some exposure to the tone of the author and his/her approach. As the old saying goes, what works for one, may not necessarily work for another. In the end I was pleasantly surprised and pleased with my results.

How Do I Download Many Files From A Web Page At Once?

Once in awhile one finds one's self presented with a lot of choices: Links to 100 MP3s of live performances by one's favorite band, or 250 high-res photos of kittens, or a pile of video files. You could go through each link, one by one, right-clicking and choosing Save As..., but you've got better things to do, and luckily there are free mass-downloading browser add-ons that will do the job for you.

If you use Firefox

Firefox users have available to them the excellent and free DownThemAll! add-on. Once you've installed DownThemAll, you'll have a few new options in Firefox. Under your Tools menu and your right-click context menu you'll get options that say "DownThemAll!..." and "dTaOneClick!" The first option opens the main DTA dialog:

This will show you a list of all the files and pages the current page links to. Here you can select which items you want to download and choose where the downloaded files are saved on your hard drive. Below, the filtering options let you choose certain kinds of files (e.g. videos or images), or something more specific like *.mp3 for all MP3 files. If you want to get really specific, you can check "Reg. Exp." to select files with a regular expression.

At the top of the dialog you can also choose "Pictures and Embedded" to instead see a list of all images, videos, or other files that are embedded in the current page. Once you've chosen the files you want to download, you can click on "Start!" to begin downloading them all or "Queue!" to just mark them for later downloading. Now you'll get the download screen:

This is pretty straightforward: It shows you all of the files that are currently being downloaded or in the queue. Here you can pause and resume downloads or change their order.

The other option I mentioned, "dTaOneClick!," is just a version of the above for impatient people. You can right-click on a link, choose "Start link with dTaOneClick!," and it will start downloading it without bothering you with options.

If you start poking around DownThemAll's preferences and using the context menus you'll see that it has lots of settings that you can tweak til your heart's content. But I've covered the basics, so start downloading!

If you use Internet Explorer

Quality add-ons aren't quite so plentiful for Internet Explorer as they are for Firefox, especially in the free department, but there are a few gems out there. For mass downloading I recommend PimpFish Basic. As the name implies, there is a more featureful PimpFish Full, but for our purposes the Basic version will suffice. PimpFish adds a toolbar to Internet Explorer and some simple options to your right-click context menu like "Grab movies on this page" and "Grab pictures on this page."

Unlike DownThemAll, PimpFish starts downloading all of the matching files automatically, without letting you pick-and-choose. If that behavior annoys you, you should uncheck "Automatically start downloading after grabbing" on the General tab of PimpFish's options. PimpFish doesn't show progress bars or download multiple files simultaneously, but it gets the job done, and I like its simple interface.

E' uscita finalmente la nuova versione di Mozilla Firefox, il programma di navigazione "made in Google", che si � distinto rapidamente per la sua velocit� di navigazione, sicurezza contro i siti contenenti virus e dialer, ecc. grazie alla visualizzazione del colore eventualemte rosso nell'icona di McAfee SiteAdvisor.

Firefox � un browser completamente gratuito e, a differenza di Internet Explorer per Win o Safari per Mac, anche i frequenti aggiornamenti sono sempre liberamente disponibili e, per di pi�, in automatico segnalati a chi ha scaricato sul proprio computer la versione compatibile per IBM o per Apple.

Qualche altro vantagggio?
Pesa pochissimo.

Per i pi� tradizionalisti e abitudinari o per i diffidenti, sappiate che lo si pu� scaricare in pochissimi minuti con una procedura a prova di "ultracentenario"!!!

Che succede sul vostro computer?
Nulla!!

Durante lo scaricamento vi sar� richiesto se volete continuare ad usare il vostro programma di navigazione abituale o volete subito impostare Firefox come quello principale.

In ogni caso potete decidere di importare in Firefox tutte le vostre preferenze, come i preziosi bookmarks ecc (e ovviamente lasciandole intatte nel vostro programma).

Se avete un blog o un sito, con Firefox potete misurare il vostro Page Rank semplicemente visualizzando la barra comandi;

Se, invece, fate frequenti traduzioni, avete l'apposito comando..

Quando ormai avevo perso ogni speranza, luned� 26 febbraio ricevo una ulteriore risposta automatica:

Dopo questa ennesima risposta preconfezionata, una dozzina di ore dopo torno alla carica:

Ancora una volta vengo accusato di "simulazione illecita di clic", ancora una volta ribadisco che non ho effettuato alcun click fraudolento, cosa che credo sia facilmente rilevabile con i vostri strumenti.
Il mio account AdSense ha circa un anno di vita, e se seguite la sua storia noterete che non c'� stato nulla di anomalo fino a circa 1 mese fa, quando qualcuno si � divertito ad effettuare i molti click che mi hanno portato al ban (cosa esposta in dettaglio in questo mio post: http://tagliaerbe.blogspot.com/2007/02/come-farsi-bannare-da-adsense.html ).
Se lo desiderate, sono a disposizione per qualsiasi ulteriore chiarimento: vi prego solo di farmi contattare da un vostro operatore.

Inutile dire che non sono stato contattato da nessun operatore di Google: ci� significa che anch'io vado ad ingrossare le fila di coloro che, bannati da AdSense per colpa di terzi, rimangono inascoltati pure da coloro che dovrebbero offrire tutela e supporto.
Il problema di AdSense �, infatti, il ban facile: i casi sono tutt'altro che sporadici (cercate nei vari forum per SEO, e ne leggerete delle belle...), e una volta esclusi dal programma, non � pi� possibile rientrarvi (nemmeno con un nome diverso).
Se poi volete dilettarvi nella lettura di un caso praticamente identico al mio, provate a cercare in Google "l'appestato di google adsense", e capirete che situazioni come quella esposta in questo post capitano ormai da tanto, troppo tempo.

Questo fatto non mi impedisce di dire che Google AdSense �, ad oggi, il miglior programma per guadagnare online.

• � semplicissimo da implementare (basta inserire qualche riga di codice HTML dove si vuole che compaia l'annuncio);
• � aperto a tutti, privati ed aziende (ovviamente, dal punto di vista fiscale, gli introiti van sempre dichiarati...);
• � adatto sia per siti piccolissimi (da qualche visita al mese) che per portali immensi (da milioni di visite al mese);
• � un sistema di pubblicit� contestuale (ovvero in grado di riconoscere il significato di una pagina Web, e quindi di proporre annunci sempre affini al contenuto del sito);
• paga puntualmente (con assegno o direttamente sul vostro conto corrente).

Credo per� sia necessario effettuare 3 divisioni:

• Siti di piccole dimensioni.
  Non state a rodervi il fegato: non sar� certo AdSense a risolvere i vostri problemi economici... pertanto, sia che inseriate o meno gli annunci pubblicitari, dal punto di vista del vostro conto in banca non cambier� nulla (o quasi).
  Se a ci� aggiungete il fatto che i pochi, miseri soldi guadagnati vanno inseriti nella dichiarazione dei redditi, credo che il gioco non valga proprio la candela.
  Se quindi verrete colti da ban, fate come me: sorridete! :-D
• Siti di grandi dimensioni.
  Non correte (quasi) alcun rischio. Google, si sa, tende a "giustificare e perdonare" i siti storici e importanti, sia dal punto di vista del posizionamento, che da quello di AdSense.
  La cosa ha la sua logica: se guadagnate tramite AdSense parecchi soldi, significa che almeno altrettanti ne portate alle casse di Google, che quindi, prima di bannarvi, ci penser� pi� di 2 volte.
• Siti di medie dimensioni.
  Siete forse i soggetti pi� a rischio. Probabilmente utilizzate AdSense per arrotondate o farci un secondo stipendio... se si, evitate di riservare il 100% degli spazi pubblicitari a tali annunci: provate ad affiancarci altri network di affiliazione (come TradeDoubler o Zanox), e di pubblicit� "in-text" (come IntelliTXT o eDintorni), o cercate anche di strutturarvi per vendere spazi pubblicitari direttamente (magari tramite qualche piccola concessionaria), ma non fate l'errore di utilizzare AdSense come unica ed esclusiva fonte di reddito, o potreste rischiare di ritrovarvi, da un giorno all'altro, senza l'assegno di Google.
  A voi, in particolare, consiglio caldamente l'installazione di uno script di click fraud prevention, come il gratuito AdLogger (in grado di limitare il numero di click che il singolo utente pu� effettuare sull'annuncio).

Se qualcuno si sente di suggerirmi altri programmi pubblicitari, � ben accetto: io aspetto di vedere quali saranno le soglie di ingresso per l'Italia di YPN o di ContentAds di Microsoft (ma credo che sitarelli e blog come il mio, rimarranno per sempre a guardare :-)).

Nel frattempo, mi piacerebbe ricevere una risposta umana da parte di Google, magari da Stefano Hesse (o da qualche altro Googler che mi legge): sarebbe una buona occasione per dimostrare che il loro motto � davvero "Don�t be evil"...

To check if adsense is working in your video pages:

- Go to your personal page (again it looks like this one: http://www.thevideosense.com/user/BigMumu/)

- go to one of your video pages (of course by clicking on one of the videos you have on your main page).

- In the video page: check its source code to see if your pub-ID is there.

- If you found another pub refresh the page then check again the source code 2 or 3 times ...
Why?
Because TVS shares with you 50% adsense revenue, your pub will show 50% of the time, TVS pub 40% of the time & your referrer pub-ID 10%.
So sometimes you may see in the source code TVS pub or your referrer pub.

To allow Google to count the hits to adsense for you, you must add "Adsense Pub ID" to your "thevideosense" account:

How do I add my Adsense Pub ID?log in to TheVideosense.com Then click on Edit profile

you will see a field titled Pub Id

enter your pub id in like this:

pub-4787635484968567

do not use ca-pub-4787635484968567

only use pub-4787635484968567

and replace the numbers after pub-

with yours supplied in your adsense account.

How to find your Pub id in your Google Adsense Account.

log into Google Adsense

Then click on

Adsense Setup

then click on

Referrals

then click on the Continue button at the bottom of the page.

Scroll to the absolute bottom of this page and click on the Continue Button.

This page displays a text area with your adsense code in it.

in there you will see your publisher ID
