Silent King

Silence rules the Kings craven mind
Untrue jestures play to a vacant heart
While he holds court nightly
To the madness of his own denial
Denying love
Denying need
Denying trust
Denying desire
King of denial
Of hearts
Of silence
Of faded glory
Of riches and passion
Youth
Life
Breath
Ruled away by pride and fear
And sickening spite
Dethroned his Queen and royal dog
In a most callous decree
Foregoing the land rich with green, impossible treasures
In exchange for a complacent, dreary kingdom of concrete worship,
Free of sacrifice, pledge, promise, vow.

Counter kingdoms and anti-queens will seek to enter the imperious
Black Laquered bed now occupied by false nobles
And tepid dreams

What hell must accompany kings and fools
Who seek to deny the true fortune
Of fate
Of self
Of soul
The queen bemuses

Coward.
