SL and I became friends when I was 15 and she was 16. We had many special times together back then. A few that stick out in my mind are parties at the pump house, sitting near the pond in Gaylordsville pitching stones and ruminating over the meaning of life and many other deep thoughts, riding bikes together on the old country roads at dusk on balmy summer evenings, and a certain pizza dinner we'd spent our last nickel on which I accidentally ruined by knocking my root beer onto it. But My faithful SL never held any of it against me.
In fact we stayed in touch and lost touch until one day she showed up on the arm of my brother Mark at a local bar one night. They have been together eversince and so have me and SL. We continue to share special times and now there is no losing touch we are happily stuck together forever.
Some of the things Laura likes are, the Grateful Dead, working in her garden, playing with her nephews, fly-fishing, playing yahtzee and scrabble with me, and spending quality time with her hubby.
Some of SL's dislikes are......does she even have any? I don't think I've ever seen the girl get angry...she's all peace and love like that! |
