| ~About Papa~ |
| I don't know a whole lot about my grandfather William Charles Mueller, except that he was Catholic and of German decent. He had a lot of health problems even as a youngster but he was strong and willful. He married my grandmother in the 40's and they had two children, my Aunt Charlotte and my Mom, Lillian. HE moved his family from New York City to Connecticut in the 50's and he managed a paper manufacturing plant called Fluted Paper for many years. Papa loved his grandchildren very much. He would spoil us whenever he could. Some of my favorite times with Papa included us doing the following: ~Going on shopping trips to malls like the Fishkill mall or as I liked to call it, the Fishgill mall. Me and my cousin Andrew would hide in the strores behind mannequinns and in dressing rooms while my granmother shopped away for hours and Papa would try to find us. ~Seeing Papa for the holidays was always special because you could see how he reveled in having his family around, especially his grandkids. ~Once time after I got all my wisdom teeth pulled at once, it was Papa who picked me up and brought me back to his house untilI recovered. I stayed with him in his playroom and he took care of me until I was well again. ~Papa singing funny songs, telling me funny stories about Nana and their courtship and the way he could make me laugh like nobody else. Even in Church during mass he would tried to make me and Adnrew laugh. ~He used to call me me OOOOORRRREEEEEOOOOOOO We lost Papa to cancer in the early 90's but he had suffered with it for many years before that. I was not ready for him to go but I realized too how much pain he was in towards the end. Losing him was very difficult for me and to this day I miss him terribly. |
