Music has always been a big part of my life, as far back as I can remember. Whether it was overhearing my parents playing Elvis, the Beatles, Sonny and Cher, and other 60's and 70's bands..or my father playing the guitar or banjo making up songs for me, my brothers and my friends,  music always interested me.

As a teenager, I started to develop an interest in physcedelic and classic rock and roll. My favorite all time band was and still is, The Doors. I am a very lyrically driven music aficionado and to me  those lyrics and Jim Morrisons poetry exemplified progressive rock and roll. Also held in a high and very similar regard, were other rock pioneers, especially from the UK. the Beatles, Pink Floyd,Led Zeppelin, and Queen to name a favorite few. I still enjoy listening to their music and deciphering their lyrics today. As a teenage growing up in the eighties I also got caught up in the new wave MTV pop genre of the early eighties,  loving bands like U2, Duran Duran, Madonna, and all the one hit wonders of that time. I also dabbled into a bit of rap and country during a brief stint, but neither of those music styles ever quite stuck on me. Later on in the eighties, I became interested in Heavy Metal rock and Glam Rock, really getting into bands like Motley Crue, Cinderella, Guns and Roses, and the Scorpions.

During my transition from teenage to young adulthood was around the same time that Heavy Metal fell by the way side and Grunge Rock exploded. I jumped right on the bandwagon and became a faithful Pearl Jam follower, Nirvana, SoundGarden, Mother Love Bone...whatever happened to grunge???  In my mid-twenties I became very interested in Jazz and started exploring the greats like Billy Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Etta James, Miles Davis, Louis Armstrong, Glenn Miller, the list goes on.......

These days, I listen to all of these music types staying true to my favorite oldies. With the technological advances in the 90's and continuing on today...I have been "burning" my own music onto CD's so that I can listen to whatever I like. Some of the CD's I have made might have anything from Barry Manilow on track 1 to Linkin Park on track 18...the point is, I like the freedom of being able to hear all the different types of music that I enjoy all in the convience of one little CD. It's heaven for me.......Now that you know the story, here are some of my favorite musicians in no particular order..
