| Flirting With Past Lives |
| In the ages of Angels, Fairies, and lore There, running with the Four-leggeds And the wing-eds I soared. As part of their clan, I am still today Like an uninvited guest Crashing their world. Remembering, or dreaming A history unfurled With straw meadows of wheat Brushing up against my feathers Air beneath my feet. And rustling once, Through forests of pine Only emotion once, was mine. When sex had a purpose Under the sun Procreation 101 To breed, I bleed And become again. The sky is my circus The wind, my friend. You can count the rings Around my trunk To tell my age I penetrate the Earth At her base Then roots and limbs Grow hands and feet, Evolving from her majestic Soil sweet. I ended here Or now I know, The journey clearer So in it goes. Now I remember I see! I see! There's so much more Than this, to me. I had a past long ago Hovering the heaven's above Oceans below. Remembering my roots, O, now I know That Earth is Heaven And I am Hawk. |
