| Ebb and Flow |
| I know where the river ends Round to Eden, her rapids bend. Tripping the Ebb With the whisk of a feather. Near mossy-fern shore banks Rich with pale-grey, Lavender heather. Rainbow trout in pools, upstream Send ripples through the soul Baptizing it clean. If you chant to the moon, The wind will dance Like the throat of the loon, Singing praise to the tumbling leaves, The flow of the currents The trunks of the trees. Minerals and herbs help rearrange, The crumbling damage Done by change. When you open your heart To Grandfather Rock, The wisdom of all origin Begins to flock, Like the Canadian Goose Fleeting to the ocean. From North in spirit, To South in emotion. Embodying the graces Of their physical West The wings, the beak, Their awkward crest. So will open All the cunning of the Geese, The gates of all knowledge And her mental East. By observing the rythms Grandmother Moon Weaves into the tides, The seas awaken The Dolphin alive! The pattern of dreams And his adaptable breath Become the link to the Universe, Divine harmony in progress. As Dolphin and manna In oneness, are entwined, By breathing with him, Our essence is defined. Can you see Mother Earth As the great medicine wheel? Like in East we learn And South, we feel. In the West we breathe, In North, we heal. And the center of all being Which flows from within, That is where The river begins. |
